US Visa expired

My US visa expired and applied for extension but i didn't get my file number yet.Meanwhile my hubby workpermit for alberta approved.
I want to accompany my husband to alberta canada.I was wondering if i could go for canada consulate in detroit for a TRV.

Please suggest if my visa will be approved or not.
