A BIT CONFUSED..

WHAT IS THE REAL?UPDATED? VALIDITY OF THE POLICE CLEARANCE?

I phoned the CIC twice. On the first occasion, the CIC agent told me that PCC should be 6 months prior to the submission and could be more than 6 months if from the other countries you've live in. I'm not satisfied with her answer because it seems like she's not sure about it.
The following day I phoned again and asked the agent about PCC and told me that the rule of the thumb should be 3 months prior to its submission!
CIC agents are not being helpful nowadays.
Any insights, I'm also confused ::)

For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before you apply.

For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country.

Thats true! I'm been reading threads about cancelations of some applications due to expired PCC. The modified rule took effect last 23April, those who have been canceled submitted their application prior to that date.

Confirming with CIC agents doesnt help at all. Let us just hope that PCC new rule is applicable to everyone.

I guess the logic at work here is that CIC assumes that your Police Clearance will be valid for 6 months from the day you submit your EE application. In the best circumstances, one could possibly receive the required police certificates a couple of days after they were issued (mailing times etc). I assume that CIC is considering one generic-unmarried-skilled worker, going through the process, with all his/her documents ready to go at 0:00:00 time elapsed on any of the submitted documents validity. Then 6 months from then, it is invald...but that doesn't matter because they say that they will process applications within 6 months. I guess it would be up to the applicant to know how many days to add to that 6 month value...or in other words, to subtract from the document's validity. the answer will be the number of days your application NEEDS to be completed in or else your submitted police document is becomes invalid :(

Does this make sense?

I think you just need to have everything ready to go the day before you fill out the online EE application form. This will really help them help you.
