Ours doesn't say that. I wonder if your letter was sent just before they changed their policy...again. My email says:

"· Please send us scanned version of the requested document.
· Please note that we can only accept unzipped PDF, JPG or .doc files that are attached to an email, totaling less than 5 MB."

I still think it's so weird they only want the scanned!

my email of 12 May also asks me;

Please note:

· Any Which documents are not Submitted in Inglés or French must be Accompanied by a notarized translation in French or Either Inglés.
· Please send us scanned versions of the Requested documents. Please do not submit originals, unless otherwise stated, as documents will not be returned Submitted.
· Please note we can only accept That unzipped PDF, JPG or .doc files are attached to an That email, totaling less than 5 MB.

in your case does not ask for photos ...

Just got off the phone with the FBI...they're working on Feb 29 today. She said that it typically takes them 2 business days to work through one receiving day.

I can't decide whether to go with a channeler, pay $50 & have it by Friday or if I should wait it out. My app was delivered in West Virginia on March 11. Oi.

Thanks for the update!

I would not necessarily go with a channeler. I've been watching the dates and I think that it can take them 2 days, but that doesn't seem to be the case right now.
Last week on May 9th (Monday) someone called and was told they were working Feb 19th. They worked 19th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th and then on Friday someone whose prints were received on the 25th had their card charged. That works out to be 1 day worked per day. (But who is counting??! :P :P)

For yours being received March 11, that means they'll likely process you May 27 or 31st (b/c of Memorial Day).

Then again, I understand not wanting to wait any more. Mine were delivered March 1st and I'm looking forward to getting that puppy to the CIC!

I had called them yesterday and they told me that they was sending the requests on approximately 02/26/2016 and that my request was received on approximately 02/29/2016 but now they told you a huge advance! in my case I need this document from fbi, hopefully they could be able to sending my request during this week +2 weeks to Montreal! good luck for you!

Feb 26 was a Friday; Feb 29 was Monday. :)

For what it's worth I just got done about 15 minutes ago at my FBI channeler appointment. About five minutes ago I got an email saying I had my results. To me, that is totally worth the $50 that they charge. TAKE THAT 16-18 week wait! :)

There are not channelers outside the US, right?
A person who lives outside the U.S. but is an American citizen or PR may use channelers as far as I know. https://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks/fbi-approved-channelers

Thanks, Decoy!

I called them yesterday after they charged the card. An agent told me to call back on Friday to find out whether the prints we rejected or not.

A couple months ago when I got mine they charged my card on a Friday and sent it to the mailroom Monday/Tuesday. The agent was very helpful and said they like to get everything done within a day so they would mail it out the next day after it's processed. Once they actually open up the envelope and charge the card (the first thing they do) they're very quick about processing it. She advised that people in the US usually receive it a week after in the mail and it took 2 weeks to get to me in Canada.

You should be receiving it soon ;D.

Quick question. the application form for the NBI clearance? for the fingerprint? do i just print out that form and have my fingerprints taken? and just send it to them? ottawa office asked me for an police certificate T_T which i think will delay my papers.

This is all the information you need for getting an FBI background check either from an approved channeler or directly from the FBI: https://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks

You will need to have your fingerprints taken and then fill out the forms listed on the link I gave you. Just follow the instructions.

You should probably use a channeler. FBI applications are still taking 13-15 weeks.

Hi, my report is to be dispatched on Monday. I am very glad this time my fingerprints were accepted Smiley

Good luck to everyone who waits their reports.
