My partner's application was returned last week and we re-submitted this Monday. After losing a month, I realized his FBI police certificate is about to expire next month (we sent the request before the new application changes were made in Dec). This time around we included the certificate up front when we sent back the application but I'm not sure when they will actually need them. My guess is if they expire they will ask for a new one. Unfortunately, he's not a citizen or permanent resident so we can't go through a channeler. Do you recommend we are pro-active and submit another request for a new certificate or do you think CIC will accept an expired PCC when the time comes?

It would probably give you peace of mind if you go ahead and submit for a new FBI clearance as it can take 2-3 months to get it. That way you don't have to worry about it delaying your application if they do request a new one. And it's not that expensive. I say it's better to have it and not need it then to risk delaying your app, unless your not in a rush like most of us.

If I recall correctly, they asked for a photocopy of the passport in the old kit. We included it with the application, so they already have it. I'm a bit curious as to why they would ask for it again.

We're actually waiting for that email now. Hopefully the background check won't take too much longer.

Yeah we included it in the packet also, but we are just going to retake again and send everything in.

Our app was filed 12-15-16 so I would thing your PPR email is coming soon!

It has to be mailed

You will need to retake the passport pics, make sure to do them to the exact specs or they will be returned.

You need to give them the address where you will be in the next couple of weeks. The paperwork they are going to mail you is the COPR which you need to show CBSA when you cross the border to land.

If you carefully read the letter all these are answered. I had to read it twice as the first time it was so exciting that I didn't quite absorb what they were wanting.

Thank you so much for your help. We are taking the photos again today and Fedex or UPS all the papers requested tomorrow.

From what I understood at the time I applied, the date the certificate would expire is locked in from the date the application arrives at IRCC. I got my FBI certificate in June. We applied in late September. We got DM in February. I was not asked for an updated one.

That being said, for your own peace of mind you could submit a request for another one. I worried they might ask me for another one, but I at least had the option of going to a channeler and could easily get my results again the same day they'd ask.

That's my understanding too, hopefully that's the case because it was received within the 6 month time frame. I will follow your advice and just tell my partner to submit his fingerprints again as it did take us 2 months exactly to receive ??? Thanks!

For my peace of mind and to have it handy in the event they do ask, I will request another summary!

I guess I didn't realize there was an expiration on the police certificate. The one I received (from a channeler) does not have an expiration on it. It's from October 6th, 2016. Does this mean I should be getting a new one, considering I only just submitted my application in March?
This whole process is giving me a headache : )

From what danawhitaker said, it seems like the "expiration" applies to when it arrives at IRCC, so if your application was delivered within 6 months of October 6th (which it was), then you'll be fine. Also, since you're able to use a channeler, you can get your PCC within a week, so even if they were to ask for another one, you'd be able to provide it right away. It's mostly just a concern for those who aren't able to use a channeler.

Hello everyone, My sponsor and I are in the usa and we can't call IRCC since its only within Canada.
My application was transferred to Ottawa VO and on Ecas it says in Process.
On the PA side it says they sent correspondence on march 18 before they sent SA on march 23. I found a number for ottawa vo and I called and it seems it worked. Did anyone try callin by this way and speak to an agent since they did not request anything like Sched A or pcc yet.

Just got DM today :D

Wondering if someone could kindly give me the CIC email address that the PPR email is sent from? Just want to whitelist it.... Thanks muchly

FinalRequest-CTDO-DemandeFinale.IRCC@cic.gc.ca was the address mine came from.

That being said, my husband and I had both set up whitelists for anything from cic.gc.ca. In Gmail, I added this as a filter:

Matches: from:(*@cic.gc.ca)
Do this: Star it, Never send it to Spam, Mark it as important

Congratulations on DM!

Excellent, thank you for the most excellent tip :)

Our BGC is still in process. We're getting impatient :(

Hi Guys,

Just landed this past Saturday at the Winnipeg Airport. The whole immigration process took about an hour and a half. Please do not let this frighten anyone. Winnipeg is the hub of immigration training so they are just a bit more detailed. The longest part was waiting for an immigration officer to show up.. about 20 minutes and once we got the ball rolling it was quick. We hit a snag when he couldn't figure out how to finalize a form (another 20 minutes) before he asked for help. He was very nice asked a few questions answered took care of the goods to follow inventory. Also I did not have the B4 completed when I landed, but i strongly recommend anyone who is landing in the next few days, weeks, months etc to have it prefilled out. To save time.

Good luck to all who are landing and for those who are still waiting keep your heads up the end is very near!

Have you considered emailing or ordering notes? I agree it seems a bit longer than most people.

How can I order notes? We did email them but they said that our application is within the timeframe.
