I should add, the check already went out a week ago.

Someone said they saw the time was up to 15 weeks. Not sure how accurate that is. It was around 12 weeks when I was first looking into applying.

Mine took about 8 weeks. Applied at the beginning of October and received results at the beginning of December.

when did cic request pcc since they only give you 30 days to submit them. Or did you send anything to tell them your situation.

They didn't request it. I had already gotten my FBI check done as the new changes in December hadn't happened yet. So when I applied in January, I sent the FBI check in with my application. But I have read of other people notifying CIC of the approximate wait time for PCC and requesting an extension on the due date.

They specifically say on the checklist:

"Note: We encourage you to start the process of obtaining your police certificate(s) in advance as we will send you a request to submit them shortly after we receive your application."

They know that they can take a while to acquire, which is why they suggest that.

Wow! They didn't request any pcc for me yet or schedule A although they transferred the application to Ottawa and it's in process.

Just got my PPR email!!!

First question is they are asking for photocopy of passport, can this be uploaded or does it need to be mailed?

Second, they are also asking for 2 photos for myself and my daughter. We already sent these with the original application do we need to get more done and send them again?

Third, we have a address in Canada as we will be landing at the end of May 2017 should I give them the new Canada address to send documents to or still use our Arizona address? I just don't want to be in Canada when the papers try to arrive in Arizona.

Thank you all very much!

If I recall correctly, they asked for a photocopy of the passport in the old kit. We included it with the application, so they already have it. I'm a bit curious as to why they would ask for it again.

We're actually waiting for that email now. Hopefully the background check won't take too much longer.

It has to be mailed

You will need to retake the passport pics, make sure to do them to the exact specs or they will be returned.

You need to give them the address where you will be in the next couple of weeks. The paperwork they are going to mail you is the COPR which you need to show CBSA when you cross the border to land.

If you carefully read the letter all these are answered. I had to read it twice as the first time it was so exciting that I didn't quite absorb what they were wanting.

They just started asking for this with the old kit a couple of months prior to the new kit coming out. Before that they just mailed your COPR without you having to resend this.

I also sent in everything they asked for with the old kit and had to resend it again. As had many others from August and September applicants. So this will be for the old and new way going forward I am sure.

Hubby is a Canadian citizen. Myself, and my kids from a previous marriage are US Citizens. We've had our application returned twice. The first was returned in February because of the change in forms. We filled out the new forms and resubmitted but everything was returned again today. I sure thought I made sure everything was included from the checklist before it was mailed off. Hubby is flying in Thursday so we can go over everything again. Is there anything specific I need to look for and make sure is included that may not be spelled out clearly?

Hello everyone, Did anyone try calling cpc-Ottawa before on this number 1-613-944-4000 and was helped ? Because im trying to call ircc and even if it's U.S.A you can't dial that number and I need to know something about my application

It is my understanding from others who have received their packages back that the Document Checklist items that are at issue are highlighted.
Did you look through the checklist to see if anything was marked?

So sorry this happened... I'm scared to death there's going to be some little thing we missed on ours. I am sure that is a common fear and a nightmare to have to figure out what's wrong an submit all over again...

Good luck!

My partner's application was returned last week and we re-submitted this Monday. After losing a month, I realized his FBI police certificate is about to expire next month (we sent the request before the new application changes were made in Dec). This time around we included the certificate up front when we sent back the application but I'm not sure when they will actually need them. My guess is if they expire they will ask for a new one. Unfortunately, he's not a citizen or permanent resident so we can't go through a channeler. Do you recommend we are pro-active and submit another request for a new certificate or do you think CIC will accept an expired PCC when the time comes?
