We seem to attract unusual requests. SA took 5 months because they wanted the IMM 5409 even though their own documentation says it wasn't needed. I thought I'd read somewhere he didn't need to submit an RCMP check so we didn't do one up front. I can't imagine what flag they would have seen to request it. He has never been arrested for anything anywhere. Not even traffic tickets. His FBI record showed nothing. We've been together for 5 years with lots of relationship proof and no previous experience with immigration and sponsorship and neither of us have been married or common-law before so really the only flag is not enough proof we lived together

Original proof of cohabitation I sent in was separate formal documents showing we had the same address. Unfortunately we had nothing with our names on it together. I sent in all his school permit and transcripts showing address and sent in work things for me showing the same address for the same time. For the last 6 months we lived together we had a lease and bills in our names but I expect it was the first year they were worried about. I also attached Commissioned letters from friends and family that talked about us living together in Canada.

When I sent in additional proof it was a letter from our landlord stating we had lived together and I had it Commissioned. I also sent some more official documentation showing addresses to show they were the same. It might not be enough but that's all I could find. Hopefully its enough.

Yikes, yes, they can be pretty anal about the common-law proof. I think they may request RCMP clearance from some people if they aren't in their system for whatever reason. Maybe your husband flew a little too under the radar :)

Just got DM on ECAS! October 2016 application common-law, hoping that the email/package in the mail will come soon. Does anyone where have an idea of how long it took to receive PPR after DM?

Congrats!!

Anywhere from 24 hrs to one week. The PPR emails seem to go out in batches.

Anyone have any info on the processing times with the new forms for Outland?

Ottawa is still consistently approving US applicants in 6 months or less. Currently Aug/Sept applicants are getting their approval papers, and Oct/Nov applicants are starting to see passport requests. Since the new application did not come out until last month, it will be some time before we see if anything changes for 2017 applicants.

Do you think this will include international students in the US?

I'm wondering if our application will be sent to Ottawa as well. Currently in the US on an H2B visa. Also, has anyone used the Notary Public at UPS locations?

Got Decision Made today! Hoping it is a positive decision. No email from CIC yet. Fingers crossed!

We had to get a document notarized for a extra document request and the kid at UPS notarized it for us. We had no problem and we are just waiting for COPR.

UPS Notary works fine, unless there is a line as they'll tend to service the normal shipping customers first. Note that certain states (eg. California) no longer allow notaries to do "notarized copy" services. They instead do an affidavit of some sort which may or may not be sufficient for your needs.

It sounds like a lot of people are getting DM this week. I do wish they'd also add an 'approved' or 'Not approved' field would make me feel better. Other people have said the PPR emails go out in batches and it looks like there should be one coming soon so fingers crossed!

You're getting the PR side approved? So once "DM" is approved on the PR how long does it take until you can actually move and land, about 30 days to get the letter? You are Nov applicants?

That's fast! I'm a Jan applicant from the US, hoping to have it done in 4-6 months, our lease is up in August and I'd hate to have to find a temporary place while waiting for my PR to go through!
