LANDED!!!

US Wife Outland, married to a Canadian Husband. Medicals and FBI done upfront.

Application Received: 10JUN2015 (MISSISSAUGA)
Stage 1 AOR: 16JUL2015
Sponsor Approval: 21SEP2015 (We missed a signature on one of the forms, this seemed to delay us a month, but did not affect overall time)
File Tranferred: 28SEP2015 (to OTTAWA)
Request for Documents: 24NOV2015 (Routine email ensuring all documentation was in order, we responded via email and by mail)
Decision Made: 21DEC2015
COPR Arrived: 24DEC2015 (Arrived in California)
Landed: 31DEC2015

We had good documentation and all our forms were typed out in capital letters for easier reading. We wrote a cover letter outlining what we sent and a short paragraph detailing our relationship with full honesty and dates. Sometimes we felt like we were behind, but it was just a waiting game. We had a pleasant experience with the whole process although we never actually had to speak to anyone in person. Emails and mail seemed professional and routine.

Good luck to everyone as it seems processing times are getting shorter! All the best for 2016!!!

Congrats - that's awesome! That timeline is pretty decent. Gives me some hope :)

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the PR Card? I landed back in October and I am still waiting.... any ideas?

Probably 3 months. You can phone the call center and they can tell you if yours is being processed yet (or dispatched).

I have been asking the call centre, they said they are backlogged on PR cards and I should expect mine by mid-January. We'll see. :/ (Fellow October landee here)

I lose a bit of hope every time I see those who applied after me get DMs. CIC works in asinine ways. :(
I understand the feeling. When you're waiting it is very hard to feel happy for the people who are completing the process, especially when they applied weeks later than you did. Hang in there!

Try watching people get DM's when they applied months and in some cases over a year after you......Yes hang in there..Anything less then what the processing time says is a blessing...For me it has been one of the worse processes I have ever been through and I am beyond grateful that all we have to do is land now...

Landing complete!

We crossed back into Canada at Coutts, AB. We got to the window, handed the fellow our passports and told him we wanted to complete my wife's landing process. He directed us to park and come inside. We handed over the COPR, the fellow asked a few questions, made her initial a few places and then sign. He had us sit down while he did a bunch of computer work, called us back up, asked about what goods we were going to bring to Canada and we handed over our B4 and our spreadsheet and he just smiled and said "Fantastic. You've done your homework. You'd be surprised how many people get to this point and have no idea what they are doing."

He took a quick read through the spreadsheet, signed and initialed each page, slapped the barcode stickers on it, and said "Congratulations and welcome to Canada."

What a relief that we are finally done! Now my wife can start hunting for a job so we can try to start climbing out of this deep hole of debt we find ourselves in.

Hey gang!
Quick question - hubby finally got his stuff back from the FBI. Do you know if CIC wants originals? Does it make sense to submit it online and also send the originals? We have our UCI and AoR but no SA (if that matters). Thoughts?
Thanks!

Hey all want to get your opinions on this...sent my wife's application in July and got SA end of August...application went into processing end of September no updates since. Medical was done before hand and submitted with application. Shouldn't we have seen medical received by now in ecas? Should I call CiC call centre?

Yes, I would think so. We have AoR and I can see that my hubby's medical is already received when checking our application status.

Thanks, just tried calling the 1-888-242-2100 number and after hitting 1 several times was told that due to high call volume that I could not be transferred to an agent. :(

Maybe doing a case specific enquiry by email to CPC-Ottawa would yield better results.

doing that now, just to be clear the application information is my wife's info and not me the sponsor correct?

Answered this when you posted same question in October Outland thread. Yes they want original.
