Hi there, My husband and I started his immigration finally in Aug/2015. We rec'd SA shortly after. On Nov 6 we rec'd our AOR (is that what it's called?). I keep checking our Ecas everyday and it just states In Process. Any idea how long it takes to go from IP to DM? The waiting is driving me nuts. Now to give correct info, All of our documents were sent in at once; medical, fingerprints, payments up front for everything and so forth. If i'm missing any info please let me know. I'm new to this.

I think you mean AOR, then SA in November . It's only been 4 months. While a few lucky people do have apps go to DM that fast, it's not really the norm. You could have DM any day, or it could take a few more months.

You can request notes on your case to see what's happening (notes take 30 days to get, and they give you some codes regarding what part of the application your visa officer is on), but it's too early to worry about this.

Thanks so much for your quick response! It's just mind boggling the waiting! My entire family is in Canada and I've lived here with my husband for 11 years. We've been married for 10 so obviously proving that won't be difficult! lol We have many Grandbabies to get to once he gets his PR. Good luck to ev1 who is waiting for PR. I wish you all Godspeed! Husband and I received an email on Dec. 3rd asking for two new Immigration size photos... So I guess a lot of us are in the same boat. We still don't have DM though.

Apparently they changed the size of the photos end of Nov beginning of Dec...we got DM on 12DEC2015 and the request for photos on the following Tuesday...we courier them Tuesday and they got the pictures yesterday...now we wait for the paper work!

I have a question about medical results. Are the results sent from the dr office directly to CIC? Or are they mailed to the applicant and then have to be sent off? My husband got his results back a month before we filed and he opened it. It didn't say anything about not opening it. we just assumed it was his copy.

This is odd. When I got my medical they did it all electronically. They took my photo and attached it to an electronic file, which they sent to CIC. Now that I think about it I do think I got a sort of receipt or something, something with my file number for the medical. I made a copy of this and sent it with my application. It says on my ECAS "medical results have been received" so I'm guessing it's all okay. Did what you got look like a receipt, or some kind of proof? That's what I got in snail mail anyway!

We got the standard document request asking for proof of sponsor residency, medical examination, fees and whatnot. My immigration consultant sent them a message saying the fees, FBI check and medical results were sent in with initial application. I guess I'm just worried they didn't get it or they lost it somehow.

aquakitty, sorry about that I have renewed my application every 6 months for visitor status yes and thanks for clearing that up for me.

Some where in the sea of CIC info online it says that the Medical is all done electronically now...In our case CIC was not able to open the attachment and thank goodness the CIC Dr worked with us and we got the medical couriered to Ottawa...took 162 days or 23 weeks and one day to get it figured out and sent but its all completed now...

What size are they asking for? Any chance you could post the email and where to send them?

They screwed up with my application and said I never sent my FBI document which I did, and then finally said "Oh nevermind we have it" so now I'm sure my application is going to take way longer because it's probably lying in some ridiculous stack. I'd love to get the photos done now so I can just mail them in. Else I'm going to be waiting even longer!

+1 thanks so much for this information. I'm probably going to at least get these photos taken soon. I don't really expect a DM until January-March, I'm in the same boat as Fruit, but they never actually said "just kidding we have it!" to me at all. All I got was an EMail in reply to my case inquiry to basically say "pipe down we're doing it when we do it" lol. Oh boy. This process can be frustrating. If they lost my FBI clearance I'm gonna be mad.

Ya, the address to send the new photos to is an "urgent" mailroom. So it should get opened and passed along quite quickly.

We got our photo request email on December 15 early morning and sent the photos in overnight that same day. Will keep u all posted on how long it takes from photo arrival (December 16) to COPR in the mail.

We got our email 15DEC2015...Sent Pictures overnight...LA got them 16DEC2015 and COPR sent 18DEC2015 and they included the tracking number..

June applicant here, Decision made showed up this morning!

So how long does it take for the Copr to arrive? The medical doesn't expire until May and we won't move until at least March but I was just wondering about timeline.

I know I checked on Saturday, so was pretty surprised to see it today...maybe they are putting in a little overtime because of the holidays and refugees. Now waiting to see if/when I get the photo request and go from there.
