13 days if you count weekends...CIC only works Monday to Friday.

Your average doesn't include weekends then? Okay that makes me feel a little better :D

Ah, I didn't realize there was a lack of SA there. She didn't mention that in her recent comment. Yeah, that would be an extreme delay in SA. I wasn't trying to be sarcastic..?

Ah, sorry, sarcasm is hard to determine over text, lol. Good luck you all you IP's, hope they get moving soon here.

Yeah from what I understood that average only includes business days :D

Maybe by the end of this week we'll see some movement, or early next week. Fingers crossed for everyone!

We received this email today!

"This is in reference to your application for a permanent resident visa, which is in progress at our office....If your sponsor does not currently reside in Canada, please provide proof that he/she intends to reside in Canada."

We are planing on giving copies of:
#1. Bank records in Canada proving we are continuing to transfer money to Canada for our move.
#2. Additional affidavits from family stating they are willing to take us in.

We don't have any children to register in school, and we are not buying a house anytime soon. I'm also planing on taking my work with me.

What other forms of intent to move should we provide?

No SA and an American that applied in January? That is an extreme delay. CIC site states 60 days. If I misunderstood and they already got SA then I would agree with your sarcasm :P.

I'm. Not understanding how less than 10 months is an extreme delay an extreme delay would be one year or more. The fact you got approved in 4 months, take it with a grain of salt. That is not the norm you were lucky now quit being condescending.

To clarify again, no SA for an American after 10 months is a long delay. If CIC states 60 days for SA, 10 months seems long. I was commenting on someone else's posts completely. You need to reread the posts. How was I being condescending? I was happy for the person I commented to, and I jokingly said they must have lost their papers, because it has been known to happen. I don't see how that has anything to do with being condescending, or how fast processing goes. I'm well aware of the average processing times.

For those out of LA...we went IP 23JUN2015 and third medical letter sent, appointment attended but no emedical request for CIC Dr...under investigation and we have heard nothing...

Have you tried contacting your MP? They have connections with CIC and possibly would be able to gather more insights for you, i doubt they can push the file and speed up the processing but at least they can try and provide you with more updates.

After some agonizing months of doubt, we've finally heard something from the CIC! They've requested my husbands proof of residency here in Canada as well as the RPRF which we've alreat paid upfront.

Anyone know if an Internet bill would qualify for a utility bill? Also, should we send more than one document of proof? And where do we send this? We want to send it right away so we can finally see that DM!

I'm a mid-Feb 2015 sponsor and my husband (principal applicant) got a document request email yesterday also asking for proof of my residency in Canada, the RPRF (which we also paid upfront) and his medical results (which ecas already shows this as being received).

I think this does seem to be a standard email that the CIC is sending out. We are going to be submitting an employment letter, pay stubs and some bank and car insurance statements as proof of my residency in Canada and we're going to be emailing them to the CIC email address it originated from (CPC-CTD-Ottawa).

I'd have to double check, but I think we submitted it after it came in around 2 months after we sent our application. Hopefully it doesn't throw off the waiting period too much. I'm a January applicant and still stuck with Application Received when I check our status.

I assumed that meant no SA. OK?

We have contacted the MP when our case sit for 9 months..and then we got a request for Meds...hubby went to appointment and then rec'd another letter for meds...apparently CIC could not figure out how to open the attachment........CIC Dr is working with us because the third one has no requests in emedical file...We were advised by the CIC Dr that they were advised the case is now under investigation ...at this point the 90 days from 2nd request for meds is this Sunday...I have requested the case notes for the 6th time...one time CIC forgot to email me, they should be here on or around 05SEP2015...If we do not hear anything by 05SPE2015 I will be contacting my MP again..I am not looking for a push I am just not wanting the case to sit from August 2015 to May 2016 like it did last year....

This was one of the more difficult to answer questions we faced in the application. I am US and wife is Canadian. We have lived in the US for the past 31 years. Our son is Canadian by birthright and does live in Canada with wife and children. We are now retiring and intend to move to Canada is to be close to family. All the usual items to submit for proof were not appropriate for my Canadian wife. There is not a job, school etc. There will only be a place to live IF the residency is granted. (Can't put the cart in front of the horse.)

So what we submitted was a picture of our son, wife and grandchildren with the statement that "This is our proof of intent to move to Canada."

I am at the stage now from a March 2015 submission that things are In Process and got an email a week ago that new medicals were required. That showed up August 10. The original medical was done August 8, 2014 and was submitted on August 28, 2014. Since only the medical has been requested, I am hoping that the picture and statement were able to meet the needs of proof.

To clarify any confusion, I'm a January 2015 applicant. We got Sponsorship Approval 3/23/15. We didn't have our FBI background check when we sent our application on 1/26/15 so we sent it when in came in about 2 months after.
