SA notification is usually sent out a few days after it actually happens, I got mine the day before Ottawa received my file, according to my case notes. I got In Process a week after SA.

Assuming your file is processed by Ottawa, looks like you're on the fast track for approval very soon.

Wow that's mind blowing! So excited right now!

Wow! My jealously levels are increasing. I wonder how they determine who to fast track? I thought the application we put together was in great order and complete, and it was submit at the beginning of May, and it's just sitting in Ottawa right now in the void.

Honestly I don't blame your jealousy! I was seriously prepared to wait months and months and months....That's why I'm so confused. If I could tell you what I did differently I would but I honestly have no clue!

Hi Guys,

I'm a June 1st 2015 applicant and I got approved for SA on July 28th 2015. I got the news through the call centre since I'm still waiting for my letter of approval. Anyways...today I checked my ECas and it says Permanent Residence Status is In Process...Is that even possible? I don't even know at what VO the application is. Could it have just been kept in Missisauga? I'm so confused!

First, Congratulations!! Yes, that is indeed SUPER fast. Normally applications involving Americans go to Ottawa but since you don't have a letter, I can't really say whether it went there or stayed in Mississauga. But I will say there have been all kinds of anomalies in terms of who gets processed first for PR - it definitely doesn't seem to be done in order of application date, etc, and there were a bunch of people that got approved who applied in 2015 while plenty from late 2014 were (and still are) waiting. But since you know you have SA from the call centre, I'd just count your blessings and go from there!

I'm counting my blessings like no tomorrow. Heck this is making me want to apply to become a case processing agent to help with everyone else! Put me on a desk, I'll approve! Approve! Approve! Haha

Ineffable....I order them when I feel like it....Our case went "In Process" June 23 2015 after nothing since Apr 2014 and I ordered case notes a few days later for the forth time and there was nothing in the notes...I ordered them this time cause I know there has been movement in our case and I want to see if there is a record of some kind....The CIC site states it can take up to 30 days..it should say it takes 30 days period unless the 30th day is on the weekend and then you get it on the Friday!!!!...For the most part I have found them useless but in my case the request for case notes was the only movement from August 2014 to June 2015....Hope that helps....Not sure what others experience but that is mine...

Thanks, Sunset! I appreciate it. I'll just order notes sporadically — mostly as a reminder for the CIC that they need to pick it up. :P

Best of luck with your case receiving DM soon!

ECAS changed to IP today! :) So happy, hoping for a very quick DM.

OMG my app is in process. :o :o :o :o :o

Yes it is possible. Our ECAS never updated to say "transferred to Ottawa" either, it just went into processing. The only reason I put Ottawa on my timeline is that is what was on the COPR return address.

And congrats to everyone on your progress! Looks like CIC has been busy the last few days

Oh ok good to know! Thank you!

You guys are making me crazy....I get the CIC Dr thinking the person reviewing the medical has no idea how to open an attachment and you guys are getting DM..what a messed up system...lol...I can't help put laugh...

Sunset, we had to send in a criminal rehabilitation application with our spousal application. I am expecting a long wait as well and really sympathize with you. My husband and I have been long distance for over four years and it is so hard being apart. It is also very frustrating when the VOs of other countries seem to be moving much quicker than the VOs for American spouses. Please keep us in the loop regarding your progress. Congratutions to those who are "in process"!!!! I can't wait until I get to post that!!

Hi all,

I'm getting jealous reading this thread. All these people getting movement on their applications so quickly. Anyway, we applied in October with SA in early January. Today, our status finally went to "in process". Anyone have an idea on timeline from there? Like how long it'll take to get a COPR? We're really hoping to have it before September 8th, when my wife is planning on starting school.

I was also an October applicant, with a similar timeframe for sponsorship approval. My application went "in process" as of June 10th (visible on eCAS sometime later), I received "decision made" on June 30th, and the COPR was mailed on July 21st. I had it in hand a couple of days later via Canada Post.

This timeframe seems to have been longer than most for both IP->DM and DM->COPR received, at least for an application with no other document request.
