Hey there, I have a question. My FBI record was submitted mid 2014 and meds in March of 2014. From experience, has anyone been asked to resubmit with these timeframes? It went straight to immigration as soon as I received the, so CPC has had them since the day they arrived. Are we held liable to resubmit forms in which may or may not have expired while in their possession? How is it our responsibility when its "Their" fault in the first place, regarding the wait?

Hello Everyone,

I landed on Sunday. Submitted app in July but didn't have marriage cert or FBI check. Once I sent all that in they marked my app received on ECAS Sept. 26. They requested my Honorable discharge from the service in April and my DM only like two weeks later. COPR in the mail to the states then mailed to me because I was in Canada. Went to the border landed within mins and no problems. Had B4a form filled out and that was it

The FBI letter will still be valid, but it's possible that you will be asked to do another medical exam. It all depends on the visa officer that is working on your file...some extend the medical, while others ask for a new one.

Yeah, I know Mississauga came to halt in the month of December. I think with the knew expectations put on them for the Express Entry program, we're probably going to see Ottawa utilizing that 16 month timeline. I've given up on summer, I'm now hoping for a Fall DM.

Well, actually.. last summer applications sped up.

But who knows what will happen this summer. It's anyone's guess.

Hard to say.. Us September applicants are still waiting, but I've never seen an application take longer than 10 mos that didn't have documents or interview requested. Ottawa has certainly slowed down, and is no longer processing apps in 4-6 mos like last summer.. I don't think it's unreasonable to hope for 8-10 mos, and I'm hoping they speed up this summer like last year, but it's really up in the air. We'll just have to see I guess.

Nah definitely not, however someone said "slow down for summer vacation" and I just wanted to mention that last year the exact opposite happened and applications actually sped up drastically in the summer.

I'm about ready to send Ottawa a shipment of Starbucks, because Timmies obviously isn't working, and maybe I'll throw in a few bottles of Adderall. Pump them up, like college students studying for finals!

Express Entry


I suspect that CIC has thrown more staff/resources at those applications, which could explain the increase in times for Ottawa.

I guess one just has to try and stay positive. I really don't want to end up adding a 6th year to our long distance. Here's hoping speedy processing for everyone.
