Thanks for explaining that.

I meant speedometer but wrote odometer. Yes my car is in KM and Miles. It has a digital display.

What is the child safety restraints? Why don't USA cars have child safety restraints? lol

I think it's some bolt that attaches to something... i'm not exactly sure to tell you the truth. all I know is that is came up on the list of things to get fixed. i'm not even sure if I needed it, or if it was already installed (it could have been one of the items they wrote n/a next to on the list). Canadian tire gets it all up to snuff for RIV. it was easier than I thought it would be. now on to registering the car and getting a license!

Awesome :).. I think my car has everything except the Day time running lights and the French Stickers :)...

But I trust that Canadian Tire will get it up to speed. Thank you :)

Congrats this is good news. They should be moving on to August soon :)

CIC website has not updated processing times since Dec. 17. Any idea how often they do this? Application package submitted 69 days ago and still no AOR or SA. Need file number to submit criminal record check results so the document doesn't get lost in the shuffle. So frustrating that they don't even respond to emails within 30 days. Have sent one anyway to tell them we have the necessary document.

it's generally done weekly. considering the 2 weeks after dec 17 were NOT full work weeks, it's no surprise they haven't gotten so far or the website wasn't updated. i would assume it's quite common for productivity to decrease between the holidays. CIC seems to be back up and running, so hopefully outland applications will get back on track. it's really not that unusual for it to take longer as posted. there's no point in sending the criminal check now. you will want to wait until you get SA so you can forward it directly to the visa office. sending it now has a greater chance of it getting lost.

Apparently, at least one person was working, God bless them, my file went in process 12/29. :D ;D

Thanks again rhcohen2014. It's good of you to continue helping us after you've successfully landed. Happy New Year!

If you're in NYC (based on your name) I can tell you in North Jersey there is a panel Dr who does the medical for a little over $400. With him I know you have to go to another location for the Xray (or blood draw, it was one of them). You do need to call and schedule an appointment, but they usually can get you in within a week. We went into Philly, since they did everything at one location.

I would do the medical before the you submit your paperwork. There is an upfront medical form the Dr prints when your done and you add to your application. It contains the UMI number for CIC to look you up in the system.

Photos, they will take a pic of you there, it's just to add to the medical file. You will also need to bring your passport for ID. The paperwork before the physical, in the Dr's office took more time than the physical's did for my spouse and child. It was really easy, or I can confirm the one in Philly is really SUPER easy, if you want to consider catching a train down there.

Have you ordered your FBI report? There is a ridiculous wait time on that, and it's increasing.

Thansk! I just called the doctor, I am in western NY, so I need to call the buffalo medical office. I just send the fingerprints today, hopefully that is the long pole for this process, taking at least 12 weeks, taking about end of March... Hopefully I will received faster.

thanks!

LOL, I just responded to you in another post about the time. It's now at 14-15 weeks and it keeps increasing. They just opened my husbands paperwork in the 11th week of waiting. They said we should have it in 4-5 weeks. To me, that sounds more like 15-16 weeks ;)

But, you can always do what we did. We submitted our application to CIC without the FBI cert. We're still in queue for SA and at 73 days and waiting. So once our application is moved onto the Visa office and the VO requests the FBI cert, we should receive it shortly after.

Really? Can I send all the paperwork without the FBI? if that so, I can send the information as soon as the doctor call me back for the medical. Still gathering the information to proof the relationship. (Marriage).. any help in that area?

The FBI background check really didn't take as much time as they predict. It was about 5 weeks. My FBI check actually expired before I got around to sending in my application. I sent in the application with my expired background check with a letter stating I was currently obtaining a current check. You can send in the application without it, just write a letter stating you are currently in the process of obtaining one and will send it in asap.

Send in your marriage certificate. I sent in my certificate, pictures of our wedding as well as pics of us throughout our time dating, as well as 2 years worth of flight ticket stubs and any hotel receipts from our trips. They still requested more proof of our relationship, so I ended up sending in some email correspondence and phone records!
