Thanks! We've all waited long enough, that's for sure!

Finally got around all other issues and Application was sent in October and sponsorship approval letter (not sure why a letter as I thought correspondence would be through e-mail) came back in less than a month. First step went smooth and hoping for everything else to go as well. My wife wants me employed ;D

Also, I remember reading something on here about getting updates online to show when your file has been touched?

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned in this thread or not, but there is now a spreadsheet dedicated to CPP Ottawa, you can find the link in my signature =)

The spreadsheet is open so you can add in your details on your own anytime you like.

Because of the number of people applying to Ottawa, I've set up the spreadsheet so everyone can enter their own information - please feel free to add your timeline (the link is in my signature)!

Good spreadsheet. Looks like Ottawa takes about 4 months, give or take, after sponsor approval, to issue PPR.

So i was just thinking... I've been here in Canada since March, I wonder if I will need police records from Canada too?

CIC will ask for an RCMP records check directly from RCMP. If there is a match using your information they will ask you to submit fingerprints (to ensure you are not the person with the criminal record). If they don't ask you for fingerprints, you won't need to do anything about your time in Canada.

Now that Stage 1 is approved and my file is in Ottawa....waiting....I thought I read somewhere on this plethora of info that I could send in a Work Permit request and have it attached to my file. Will it be approved sooner than the PR or do they wait until the PR to be approved to send you notice if the WP is approved?

That only applies to inland applicants. You're in the outland thread, so either you're in the wrong thread OR you're thinking about the other kind of application.

Speaking of which, does anyone know if it's still true that inland takes longer than outland? I'm really starting to regret filing outland, especially because of the work visa thing. But who knows when that would have arrived as well. Shortly after filing outland, I had a CIC phone operator tell me that I did the right thing b/c the incland sponsor review would have taken longer than the whole outland process.... not sure how true that is anymore 0.o

I'm pleased to be able to report that CPP-O CoPR delivery has begun in the US (taking a week to make it through Canada Post and USPS).

For those wondering what to look for in the mail, it's a ~ 7.5x10.5 inch manila envelope (so, almost letter size but not quite) that has the Case Processing Pilot-Ottawa return address stamped on with red ink and the delivery address on a big white label placed on the envelope in 'landscape' format.

Well was true in my case... start to finish 7 months exactly. If I had applied In-land in April first stage approval was 8 months it has dropped to 6 now but you still have an 8 month wait for the 2nd stage approval... looking at your time-lime they received my application the day before yours... Honestly I like not having to worry about CIC anymore LOL
