So you have not received anything concerning Step1 sponsorship approval? Then it's most likely in Ottawa

Ok, that's what I was thinking, just wanted to clarify that. We haven't recieved a letter, but we did get an email stating we were approved for sponsorship and the application has been forwarded.

First, huge congratulations to elokpo!!

Second, a question. Have you all paid your Right of Permanent Residence Fee already? I haven't and I was just wondering if we should or if we should wait until prompted.

I think they request it before PPR.... unsure. However, I know that it makes the process swifter because there is no delay while they contact you to request it, then them going back to your file to see if you've done it and process it... it'd already be paid and would be there the moment they needed it. I personally paid all my fees upfront before I even mailed my application. Most people do this method due to the potential of a delay (usually when they request fees, or documents, it can sometimes delay your processing by 2-3 months).

I did pay them.

Note. We strongly recommend paying the Right of Permanent Residence Fee along with your processing fees. By doing so, it will reduce the processing time of your application.

I suggest you pay them up front it avoids delays and at this point I don't think any of us want delays!

Hey guys, finally got some decent news!

So my wife and I got through to CIC, and they informed us that my file was approved and sent to Ottawa on 7/27! So it looks like you guys were right, and that April applicants are getting sent to Ottawa. I guess we don't really know how fast the Ottawa office is, because we are the first ones who have been sent there.

I can probably find this out myself, but does anyone know how to contact the Ottawa office, or any ideas about their processing times? Also, does Ottawa contact via email, phone, or regular mail? It sucked to be waiting so long with no word, but actually works out in the end because we have been waiting 3 weeks already after step 1, but without knowing we were waiting for it!

Looks like everything is moving along the way it should...

BTW...is anybody updating the spreadsheet? If so, you can update my file transfer to 7/27.
