Anybody have any approval info from April/May? I see the stuff on the spreadsheet, but it is getting frustrating checking my email and mail every day and having nothing ever be there.

I've seen a few Buffalo approvals for May, and several others. I'm still waiting, I sent mine on May 18th, received May 22nd. Dunno when I'll hear anything, if I'll hear anything... I'm in the same boat. My sponsor works so much he can't call.

I don't know how much one would charge in Hamilton. Probably a good idea to do a bit of checking what others charge just to make sure you're getting what is fair or not overcharging and not getting any clients. I would suspect 20 dollars an hour though, maybe more. Gotta be a fair amount of foreign students at McMaster...?

Well I hope that you aren't waiting almost 4 months like I have been. It's great that lots from late may have been approved and all, but it's not fair that people from April haven't been yet. also, I can't believe that some from Sept/Oct 2011 still are not done, while lots from Jan/Feb are done, or close. If i turn into one of those cases, i'm going to lose it. I'm all for being patient, but it really sucks

I have a great job waiting for me that will be around for a few months more, but if this takes too long, then they are going to get busier and have to find someone else. So, for the time being, every month I don't get the PR is thousands out of my pocket, and the chance that I will be out of luck when I finally do get the PR. I know this forum does not support working illegally, but if you find steady under the table work, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Chance of getting caught are low, and the process for getting work permits for people in our situations is ridiculous. If you are here applying for PR, it should be very easy to get a work permit with an official job offer

I feel you apstone, it's all unpredictable, the good news is there is movement, maybe the sept/oct ones have more difficult cases...I am waiting to see more movement next week, they are back on track ( for the most part) in Step 1..they can therefore concentrate more on Step 2! in the next month i predict we will hear something, an AOR, in process..something!

I got my approval after 86 days and I was one of the lucky ones. They state on the site 12 months and you cannot contact the VO's that process us in step 2 except through e-mail (which parker 24 is a pro at )I am only going to inquire in september, January and February have not been completed yet and don't think that I will get anything until then. Step 2 becomes easier after a while, we know they have our files and so it's just a waiting game at this point. We are the guinea pigs since the Buffalo closure so who knows what can happen at this point!

Finally LA tells me and Ottawa tells me my file is in process in LA AFTER LA e-mailed me Just seem annoyed in your e-mail (They will still say "Thank you for keeping your communication to a minimum"... You're welcome. Otherwise I'd e-mail you everyday?! )

i think this worked for me hahaha
we didnt hear anything for 4 months, no aor or nothing!!
than i sent them 2 emails to ask if they have our file.
and the next week we got a request for a redo medical from them
lol maybe sending it really helped!

All Step 2 files are being processed by ottawa and visa issuance from LA... what does it say on your approval letter?

We haven't gotten the approval letter. We recieved an email saying it we need to submit further documentation or make inquiries to contact the Ottawa office.

So you have not received anything concerning Step1 sponsorship approval? Then it's most likely in Ottawa
