I just received a request to pay my right of permanent residence fee (since I didn't pay it up front). My ECAS is in progress as is my background check. Do any of you know at what point applications are at when they ask for the RPRF? Thanks.

They asked us for that fee in the AOR2 email when the file was transferred to Ottawa. That was March 10. Our background check went into progress soon after. DM came in June, two and a half months later.

Heya - got decision made on Ecas Wednesday but no changes on myCIC. What have the trends been from DM to PPR?
Congrats!!! I've seen a couple people who's a MyCIC doesn't change till after they get PPR or COPR.

I think most folks get PPR around one to two weeks following DM. Ours took ten days and one poster recently waited about three weeks.

If your background check is in progress and you got requested for the fee payment then PPR must be near. Could be days, weeks, but I doubt it will be more than 1 month and a half.
When did you apply?

They ask for RPRF when the app is almost complete. That's the last step before they send you a PPR.

Um, not necessarily.

I've also seen other posters getting this request fairly early on.

The background check is the last step. They usually ask for the fee before starting the background check. I have seen cases where they ask for the fee before elegibity has changed to passed. So basically a request for the RPRF fee along with the background check starting it means the app it's in it last stages.

Sounds about right. They asked us to pay RPRF almost a month ago, then sent a medical exam request which was completed a few days ago. Just waiting for background check to go in progress if myCIC updates.

I was seeing places that BGC was the second to last step before Eligibility, but I guess you're right since we recently found out our application, still in CPC-Miss, is getting eligibility don't right now.

Is it true that the eligibility status on gckey never changes for Americans?

Ours changed along with background check and final decision after the CoPR was issued.

Seems like there is a new trend that background check goes in progress before getting transferred to the VO. But usually, BGC goes in progress after meds and fee payment. Is this last one is the case then PPR should come shortly after since that means eligibility is passed. If the background check goes in progress while still in Mississauga before getting transferred the VO then it's not an indication of PPR as the eligibility has not been started.
