Big congrats Amoss!

No movement on my end but all of the end of May (from the last day back to the one just after me, and one above me... go figure :P) has gotten sponsor approval, and a few at the beginning, as well as all of the beginning of June.... hopefully I won't be waiting much longer.

I love it awesome!!! I'm starting to get really aggrivated at how fast some other VO's are approving! Canadians and Americans are pretty much from the same descent! Thats because their was no borders before! I want some news soon!

Well, at least L.A. is moving along now.

Someone needs to go to Ottawa and deliver a swift kick to someone's ass.

I wouldn't call it moving...january applicants have gotten barely any step 2 approvals.. you still have february march april etc...and the time they post on the site from when you got approved for step 1 is now at 12 months....they could be moving a little faster but most of us are being processed in Ottawa with Visa Issuance only from LA...so who knows what is happening

Thanks everyone! It feels good to see some change finally. It's been 5 months since we had some real movement. I hope it means things are just gonna move super fast now, for everyone

Quick question- We are filing outbound and submitting paperwork at the beginning of Oct. I am sending out my fingerprints and the application for my background check to the FBI this week. Do I have to wait for the results BEFORE we can submit the paperwork or can we submit it and send along the criminal check afterwards?

The checklist (google IMM5491E) indicates that the police clearances (original docs) are required to be submitted with the application (#26). I would not assume that docs sent later would get properly joined to your file, unless they specifically request them.

Technically, you *can* send the criminal record check later, but that can cause problems and delays. You should definitely wait until you have the results before sending the application in. Since the FBI check usually takes about 8 weeks and you're sending the fingerprints in this week, you will probably have it back by mid-October. Waiting the extra week or so before sending the application is worth it, because then you know that sending it late won't cause a month's delay later.

Thanks for the help, I'm getting the fingerprints done today and express mailing it to the appropriate place so hopefully it won't end up taking too long.. Here is another question regarding the fees. The CIC website is very confusing and makes me crazy lol it says you can pay online but when I click on the link it takes me to another confusing and non-helpful page

Could you please tell me which fees my wife and I need to pay for, how many and how we pay them?

Lindissa, have you read the Guide 3900? If not, you will need to become familiar with it in order to fill out the application.

$550 + an extra $490 if you want to pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee in advance to reduce application time.

If you scroll down in the link above you'll also find detailed online fee payment instructions.

If you include a pre-paid waybill, they will FedEx/UPS it back to you too :)

Brilliant, I'll bookmark the guide- that's handy! Anyone have a link to the forms I need to fill out for my PR? Everyone is telling me to submit that along with my sponsorship applications so I'll do that. Again I apologize for my neediness lol I just don't want to mess this up
