maybe it's bc of the holidays?

Hope it's just the holidays and not an increased work load

and... how did your AOR come in 2 weeks after submitting? that's lightning fast!
It was more like 25 days or so, but we were surprised too!! Wish they were lighting fast at this part of the process as well.

I know right! My wife got her PPR on Sept 25 and then on Nov 7 she got another email asking for immigration photos. We figured CIC lost the ones she had done at time of her medical and she had new ones done on Nov 7th and sent them by special delivery. Of course due to long weekend (remembrance day) it was after Nov 11 before they were received. So that has delayed our COPR getting here.

They were doing pretty good all up to October, then NOTHING.! At least you guys are pretty much towards the end, I'm pretty sure you should be receiving COPR any day now.

Guess what she found in her wallet today? Yup tucked away in a little envelope for safe keeping the photos she had done last February! Somehow we forgot to include them when we couriered our application package in March. It sucks cause maybe she would be landed by now. :( :(
OMG..!! I would of had a heart attack if that had happened to us!

The last thing I've seen from Ottawa was timelady (a May applicant) receiving her passport request on October 17. It's like nothing has happened there for the past month and a half.

I know it is horrible of me, but I can't help but be a bit jealous when I see people who are going through other VO's get their COPRs so quickly. I guess I should just be thankful that I am not applying through one of the VO's where the timeline is two years or more!

I'm lucky because I live with my husband now, so am not separated from him, but I am missing my family in Canada horribly - my mom, my sisters and my daughter. Basically, it just seems to suck no matter which way you are doing it. ;)

It's tough but all you can do is wait and be patient. The fastest timeline I've ever seen from CPP-Ottawa is 6 months (includes the one month SA in Mississauga), which is abnormally lightning fast. 7-8 months is considered very good too.

I have a bit of a question..visa office is Ottawa Husband is American..we received passport request Aug 12th..sent that in along with additional documents....he redid medicals and they have been received and he passed..they were received Oct 28th...I assuming that passport request means they are getting ready to send COPR...as of now we still have application received...i sent in an email changing his address to mine today so hopefully that doesn't screw anything up....but the passport request and a recommend pass on his gcms notes is a good thing yes..thanks for the help

The wait time they are now showing on CIC website is 15 months for Ottawa VO. Their news release noted that they are priorizing Manila applicants due to the disaster. It seems like Ottawa VO has stopped processing for others since then.

note that the times on the website are always conservative. It is an average that takes into account applications with various red flags that take longer. Straightforward, complete applications can take as little as 7-9 months.

I'm not sure what your question is? If you are asking about PPR ...it does seem to usually mean that they r getting ready to mail the COPR, especially if you have a DM on your ECAS. Did they waive an interview?

Yes interview was waived....and yes I was asking about PPR to put my husbands mind at ease....we recently changed his address to mine to as he is coming here on the 18th of Dec to visit until he can land....and we still have application received, but from what I read on other posts they are concentrating on manilla applications and those affected by the typhoon..so not sure how long it will be before we see DM..but at least he will be here with me.

yes it appears that the Ottawa VO is not pushing out anything new lately. Perhaps they r assisting with the folks affected by the typhoon. Hopefully they will be back working on us soon.

Let's hope so...thats what I have read in other sections as well, that is why I sent the address change in so his COPR gets sent here and not to California..At least I will be with my husband even if he will just be considered a visitor for a little bit.

we got our COPR this week in the mail. It was mailed Nov 27th. Plan to land at border tomorrow. Not sure how it works. Do we enter US and then turn around and enter Canada or do we tell US border people we want to flag pole. My wife is US citizen so they wouldn't deny her entry and send to Cdn side would they? I'm not sure how that part works. Just to be clear she is already here in Canada. Now that it is almost over it should be less anxiety but until she gets it stamped and a copy in her hands we are still nervous about it.

I know I stopped and got an entry stamp in my passport (I'm also a US Citizen). I did this because a friend of mine who had landed two years earlier was told he HAD to have that stamp (to prove he had left Canada) and they made him go back to the US side to get his passport stamped.

It took longer to get the entry stamp on the US side than it did to land on the Canadian side (note that this was at the Douglas, BC crossing).
