If you were asked to submit a fingerprint based RCMP report, they will use that. They only ask for a print report when they've pulled you using your bio data (name and DOB) and found someone with a criminal record. The fingerprints are used to verify that it isn't your criminal record.

It sounds like they have everything they need so it should be soon (though the labour action is impacting things).

Thanks computergeek,

yaa finger based RCMP was requested. So I did electrnoically and got results in a week at my home and then I forwared to them. Looks like Medical part is complete now as It says medical results have been received. RCMP part is complete as well unless they do some internal check RCMP even after I got RCMP clearance. If both things are done, then hopefully soon, I will get PPR. I don't know If I would be asked for passport or just copies. I am in Canada at the moment with study permit. On GCMS it says counterfoil not required. But I am NOT from visa- exempt country. So I don't know.

Anyone have any idea of what I should expect?

I'm Canadian living in Canada, my wife American living in the US.

CPP Received our application in LA on Feb 18.

Somehow it ended up in Ottawa.

March 12, 2013 - approved to sponsor my wife.

How long do you think it will take? What are the next steps!??

:( IM so sad about this I miss my wife so much...

My application status on ecas says Application Received, medical received. Thats it!

sid - Ivan answered your questions in the CPP-Ottawa thread but to give you a rough idea of how it may go in regards to timelines is that it looks like you are roughly one month after me (my application was received Jan 16 and sponsorship approved Feb 11. I anticipate (hopefully) that my wife gets her COPR in the mail around the end of this month. If you continue on the same timeline of being a month after me, it could be possible your wife gets hers end of September assuming she doesn't run into any major issues with her application.

But again timelines are highly variable. But again if things go well, you can anticipate her getting PPR shortly.

Any one know how long it takes Ottawa to stamp and return PP?...It was sent from USA

Hi all,
We had our interview on August 14, 2013. The interviewer said we passed the interview and she said she is satisfied about our relationship. She still requested additional documents and said she will forward us the letter but in meanwhile we can start gathering those. In the end, I asked if we passed the interview and she said yes and she said as long as I received these additional documents.I am just wondering if LA office requested additional documentation after passing the interview. She said it might take 2 to 3 months and she also said we can apply for visitor's visa if we want to. She said security is done and medicals are expired. Then we gave her the copy of new medical and we said that it was not requested but we decided to do it on our own. She said she will confirm with Ottawa and we don't need to redo it.She said we can fax the additional documents but she will mail the letter. What do you guys think?

any suggestions how long it will take
thank you
ambber
please give suggestions

Got COPR in the mail today!!!! Decision made on ECAS on Thursday and COPR is here already!! Landing in Sarnia on Sunday!

COPR came today

I have a question though, I have not told my wife it came yet! I wanted to surprise her and be there when she gets in from work!
Does anyone know if they will contact her to let her know when I land?

I feel you, living apart is not easy and can take a toll on a couple. Personally, I can't quite remember or find documents mentioning when I was approved as a sponsor(same situation as you, I'm Canadian and my wife is American and applied from outside Canada) but going from our status page on CIC's website...

They received the application on June 25th 2012 and after being approved as a sponsor, a decision did not come until August 2013.

I dont want to wait that long, if I have to wait longer than march I'm going to physically show up at the office with a knuckle sandwich.

How long does it take from in process to passport request?
We had interview on August 14 and they requested additional documents. It went in process now

Finally got my COPR TODAY! YAYAYAY! It took over a month from when it was updated online to when I received it!

I do have a question though, across the middle of the COPR (which clearly says 'Confirmation of permanent residence) it says "not valid for travel" What the heck does that mean?

My Ecas got updated to "DM"...I got PPR last Tuesday and now the Ecas changed to DM
So How long before I get my PP back?

Landed today in Sarnia!! Woo!!!
