US Citizen visit extension

Hello. I've been looking everywhere online, and I haven't been able to find a way to do this.

I'll appreciate any help I can get and try and keep my long story short haha. I'm visiting my girlfriend here in BC and things have been going great. I'm going to be working on (or I am currently working on?) getting my days needed living in Canada but I'll be coming up on my 6-month limit in a couple months so I'm hoping to apply for an extension on my visit. The problem is, everything I find needs me to be here on some form of VISA but since I have my Passport didn't need a Visa.

Are US citizens able to get visit extensions?

I've made an account and tried that, but there's no way to apply online like it asks :\.

It brings me to my account where I could see how my applications are going, but no way for me to actually do an application.
