US-Canada Travel while on "Implied Status"

My work permit expires on July 31 and I will be on implied status after that (i.e. have applied for a new work permit awaiting LMO decision).

I know that one can loose the implied status if you leave Canada, but I have been told that it may not apply for cross border travel to the US. Any truth to this?

Thanks

Last time I looked US was a separate country. You leave Canada, you lose your implied status.

Ya, just checked wikipedia and you're right. Apparently there's a border you cross from Canada to the US, that usually
happens only if you leave a country. 8) 8) :p

lol JK!
