We're officially PRs!

The one negative during our landing (Vancouver airport) was that the officer would not let us use our brother-in-law's address in Prince George BC for our PR cards "unless you are moving there within two weeks".

He was complaining about the "goods to follow" list as well because we weren't planning on moving within two weeks.

He didn't ask for anything other than the COPR, list of goods, and list of goods to follow. We got through it, the list to follow was approved, and are now PRs. And will later send in the form for the PR cards... using the same address. :)

Today we're thinking of getting our SIN cards if we can. The officer kept saying we need to go to Prince George (where BIL lives) to get it, but that's not our understanding so we're still going to try.
We got a similar jerk lady officer yesterday at ambassador bridge in Detroit who spoke similar rules (?) about PR cards. She was mentioning that since I'm not going to reside in that location, it is illegal to send PR cards there. She didn't make much fuzz about gtf though. She probably didn't like the fact that my landing was really short (took an U turn to US side) and was very rude through out the process. She was asking unnecessary questions like why I was moving at this point when I have my validity till April and rudely reminded of 2/5 RO. No welcome to Canada either.

By the by I noticed that you updated your address through phone. Did call center guys ask when are you moving permanently while giving out the address? If so what you said. We may not move until next year, so I just want to give an answer that works. Hate to be without PR card as it's a hindrance for immediate travel.

1. Yes you can apply. If you have been in the country for 6 months or more, your country of residence is considered the US.
2. Yes you will have to take the IELTS general exam
3. You will need to provide both, USA and India.

Hi All. I am expecting my PPR in next couple of months. Wanted to check if any one has tried the "Automatic Visa Revalidation" while crossing the border from US and coming back to US?

Hi Folks!!

So I am based out of NYC. I have landed but my PR Card photos got rejected twice!!

Any suggestions on where to get those clicked in Northern Nj or New York City?

Thanks
Where did you get your photos done? I am in NYC as well. I am still early in the process, just submitted my PR application yesterday, but I would also like to know for the future where to go (and where not to go!)

Congratulations on your landing! Yeah, dealing with the incorrect instructions was annoying at the time. But everyone else has been great to deal with and have more than made up for it. :)

On calling to change the address, my wife was the one who called. I asked her, and she says they didn't ask her anything. So hopefully you'd be ok as well.

I should add, they did tell us the cards would arrive around the end of February. If that's an average length of wait for them, and you need the cards soon, you'll probably want to update the address soon.

1) Can i apply for FSW PR while i am studying at USA? or do i need to go back my home country to apply? -- You can apply from the US. But if you don't have much work experience and Masters degree, it is difficult to get the invitation to apply.
2) I am studying Master from USA, do i need to give IELTS exam? -- Yes, IELTS (or CELPIP) is required.
3) I am at USA from last two years, so can i provide PCC from USA or do i need to get PCC from India? -- You will need both India and US (and any other countries where you lived for more than 6 months after turning 18)

Thanks

Stupid Q here but worth to ask. You know the complicated visa situation under Trump administration and I am very anxious to land in Canada

Any way to land without leaving the US?
Nope..landing requires you to be physically present in the country. "Landing" is just an immigration jargon used when a new immigrant arrives in a foreign country.
