Hi All,

I have few questions : there is a list of document checklist. I wanted to know Photocopy of Marriage Certificate ? Does the Sponsor& Sponsered Person obtain it from Canada even though they marry in India?

What type of Civil Staus and Identity documents are needed by the Sponsored Person ?
Proof of Relationship to Sponsor ?
What is Medical Report Client BioData & Summary (IMM 1017) ? Does the Physician provides themselves or Sponsered Spouse needs to take it to during appointment.

Thanks,

The marriage certificate is issued wherever you are married. You should hopefully have one from India...and if it is not in English/French you must include a certified translation.

For an identity document, a birth certificate usually works. Again, same rules for translation as above. Civil status will be taken care of by your marriage certificate.

For Proof of Relationship to Sponsor, for starters the marriage certificate does this...but also be sure to include photos of your wedding if you have them, and any other supporting documents, such as airline tickets, phone bills, email, chat logs.

The IMM 1017 is a form that, at least in my case, was given to my wife by the doctor to submit as proof of the medical exam. Now I know this apparently isn't the case for everyone because of the whole e-medical thing, so you may not get an exam form like that. What they are looking for is a receipt that you had the medical check done.

I assume you're going by this document :)
