I gave birth here in Canada in May. I called cic when I was pregnant and was told I didn't have to call. I have now had a DM letter and at the bottom it states to tell them of any changes including birth or adoption.

Im very confused and probably sounding really stupid. I have been told they only need to know if the child is not Canadian but I've also been told the opposite.

Can anyone help me?

I've been trying to call cic for 2 weeks now still can't get through.

You will have to keep trying to get through to CIC. Keep at it and inform then of the birth of your baby.

When my wife landed, she was asked if there were any other children listed, our children were listed even though they have canadian citizenship, as all children must be listed, regardless if they have canadian citizenship or not. She replied no and that was it. So I would keep trying to contact them as soon as possible and explain your situation. If you still couldn't get through up to landing, you must inform them at the landing that you have a new baby. They would need to update the system and you may be require to reschedule another appointment to give the system a chance to update the info before you land and have all the correct info before landing.

I would say e-mail your Visa Office and inform them that you are pregnant and inform them of your due date.

The people at the CIC call centre really do not know much and I have called them a couple of times to ask some questions and I have gotten several different answers from different customer service reps.

But if you email your Visa office, the e-mail reaches the visa officers who are the ones that actually deal with your file. Also, your e-mail will be proof that you tried to notify them. A phone call will be heard to prove.

Just my thoughts though :)

Good luck
