Nope. I was in the same case. I was doing a postdoc under pgwp and a certified lawyer told me that my postdoc (under the pgwp) does not count as a work offer so I have to show proof of funds.

Thanks a lot for your fast reply. Another question, are stamped bank statements enough for the last 6 months? As my Canadian bank refused to customize a letter for me.
