Urgent: Please Advice: Reference Letter

My supervisor has agreed to give me the reference letter with the detailed roles and responsibilities. I already have a detailed letter from my client. Can I just use the same format with the exact roles and responsibilities? I am just worried if this will annoy the visa officer with 2 letters in the same format and exact same roles and responsibilities.

Please help.

Re: Please Advice: Reference Letter

No harm. Clearly mention through the medium of a covering letter that one is from your supervisor and the other one from the client.

Yes, I am putting that in the subject of the letter so that it is clear to the visa officer. I have copied rest of the content from the client letter.

Seniors, any advice please...Is it sufficient if I request for a reference letter from my current supervisor?

My thoughts - Use only one letter if it is detailed one. Can't you convince your supervisor to give you an updated letter with detailed duties from client letter? To me, that would be the best option.

My supervisor has agreed to give me the reference letter with the detailed roles and responsibilities. But I was just wondering if it will annoy the visa officer to see the same format of the reference letter from both the client and supervisor with exactly the same roles and responsibilities in both the letters.

I don't think it will annoy them as such, but if it's identical they may wonder why! Are you employed by a recruitment agency in Canada and work for "a client" or did you complete an intra-company transfer?

No, I am not from a recruitment agency. I am from a big employer.my client was kind enough to give a detailed letter and I like the format too. Want to use the same one as well by just changing it to my supervisor name. Suggestions please...

I'm so confused. Do you mean you work for a big employer and one of their customers are writing a reference letter for you?

It's all very bizarre... I've never heard of anything like the issues people on these forms are discussing.

jsm0085, you may choose not to answer my question and I am sure there are still people in this forum who care to reply however easy the answer might be..

I have managed to write down my roles and responsibilities for NOC 2171. Can someone please review and let me know that they really suit NOC 2171 and I can apply under the same. This is the NOC code what is in my LMO as well.

• Analyzing of business requirements and system specifications to understand the best application of People Soft functionality to fit the needs of the business.
• Prepare high level design documents to support the analysis above. As well as, provide assistance in the design, development, integration and implementation of business solutions in Peoplesoft to support defined client needs.
• Implement defined configuration in Peoplesoft based on the requirements and documentation.
• Perform troubleshooting of identified issues in current programs, finding the root cause and follow through with fixing the identified items.
• Analyzing of existing custom developments and Peoplesoft program notes to further enhance and deliver additional functionality per the client requirements for both new and changes to current programs.
• Estimating project deliverables timelines and review past estimations and completed project data to enable more accurate delivery estimations in support of development and change to support business requirements
You are good with these for NOC 2171.

Thanks Andy. I am a little relieved now. I entirely trust your judgement but may be a few more votes will make me feel even more comfortable.

Is it just roles and resp. matching in both letters and other contents are different? I guess 'client' anyway cannot talk about your salary etc. if you are paid by your original company. So that way there is already a difference. Then you are good to go.

If both letters match word-by-word (in all aspect), I would suggest you to use the one from your original employer. Word-by-word match may hint some personal bias, even though that may not be a problem. I guess you have some control of the format on either or both of the letter, if that is the case get one letter content bit changed.

Just my opinion..
