Hi,

My employer cannot issue work experience lette with Roles & Responsibilities as this is against the company norms and policies. Can anyone help me on this.

What are alternatives available to use. If any format available please share with me.

what company norms and regulations??
You do have a joining letter? right?
you can ask them to give you a letter saying issuing a roles and responsibilities letter is against their company norms.

Yes, I have joining letter. As per company policy they can only mention my designation on company letter head.

I dont know where your company is located but by-law when you join a company they are required to define what position you will be working on and what you will be doing.
if nothing else ask them to write a letter saying that they cant issue a letter detailing what you have requested and then submit a letter with your application detailing what you had been doing. another thing that you can do is to attach a recruitment advertisement from your company for the same position. It would be awesome if that recruitment advertisement was published in a paper or is already posted on your company website. And if the joining letter details your roles and responsibilities then that is good too. All you need to prove is that you have been working inthe field that you are claiming and these were the responsibilities.

Canadian system would need the roles and responsibilities to properly assess your application.

The application you submit will be evaluated thoroughly and you would need to prove everything you say by presenting proper documentation.

There is no valid reason for a company to refuse to detail the primary job responsibilities.

I can suggest below:

1. Take the letter from the company but make sure they mentioned the: current designation, working hours of job (full time or part time), type of employment (permanent or temporary).
2. Then take another letter from your direct boss/manager, which includes the detail job descriptions. It can be in plain paper, but make sure that your managers email address and address is official.
3. Also attach supporting documents like: Tax Clearance or Salary Adjustment or Promotion Declaration Letters if possible.

Send all the letters with your application.
I hope it will work, one of my ex-colleagues did the similar I mentioned. It worked. I hope, it will work for you also.

Thanks a lot Mkhrussell, Iam also facing the same issue with my employer. Iam working in a very big Tier-1 Multi-national company, and they are not proving the employee reference letter with roles and responsibilities. My Offer letter says only designation name and no roles and responsibities.
Iam still negotiating with HR for the letter. The HR does not even allow the manager to give the letter on letter head.
If Iam not able to get the letter, then I will follow your steps. I even missed the SNIP PNP quota, just I did not have this letter and delayed in submitting the profile

You are welcome. Make sure to attach supporting documents, those documents will prove you are an employee of that organization. Good Luck.

I was in the same situation, but I decided to do that job letter with all responsabilities and duties of my work by myself. So, when I finished my letter I went to the Human Resources office of my company to just sign my letter. They just signed my letter. I hope my experience works for you as well.

Hello HOPE, you took the letter on a plain paper? or on a company letter-head/company pad?

company letter-head

I observed that HR only follows standard formats of employment certificates/ letters. They become hesitant to entertain any request from employees when a different format of the letter is requested. Probably, because they are unaware of the purpose of your request. But that is just my thought... so this is how I approached it.

I prepared a draft of the letter. I talked to my immediate supervisor and asked him to confirm that the contents of the letter was accurate. I explained to him that I will be needing it for an application (to immigrate to Canada). He understood and he forwarded my draft to the HR recommending for it to be signed. I am very thankful that I have an open-minded Manager who supported me with my personal goals.

It was difficult requesting for it directly from HR. But when I asked my direct manager to assist me, it became easy. HR just needs someone to assure them that there is nothing wrong with the requested letter. Again,... this is just my perception. I am not saying that this is REALLY HR behavior.

Maybe you can try a similar approach. Look for someone who can persuade HR to prepare the requested letter.

My employer is not giving my Roles & Responsibilities on company letter head but they have given me on e-mail. is this valid or not..?

If I were in your situation, I will go for it and follow mkhrussell's advise.
However, if the e-mail that you have on hand with the R&R does not come from an official company e-mail address, I will not proceed.

an e-mail is more than just what you see on a standard system. the e-mail is full of all the identifying information that is usually hidden from the user.
talk to somebody who knows a bit about extracting headers and path information and take a print out of the raw information as full e-mail. go to your company's IT guy or your local IT whiz kid.
if the e-mail originated from company server and came from company address then attach a full copy with path information and that will be proof in itself. do not delete the e-mail ever as CIC may ask to see the original e-mail.
hope this helps.
