Urgent: Incorrect PCC issued by CGI

I applied for DOB and PCC @ CGI 2 weeks ago and I received it today.
But my PCC has incorrect "date of issue" and they mentioned my mother's name instead of father's name.

Please advise what should I be doing now.

Return it with a covering letter, highlight the mistakes and ask them to issue the corrected one asap.

I have been trying to reach the CGI guys thru phone since an hour and no one is answering

Phone calls will not help. Visit in person and get it done.

As Andy mentioned there is no use of calling them...they don't answer any calls...it is highly frustrating...Better visit CGI in person.

I have got the PCC in the below format from CGI:

There is no adverse information in respect of XXXXXX Son of XXXXX holder of Indian/Canadian Passport No. XXXXXX issued at XXXXX on DD.MM.YYYY which would render him/her ineligible for the grant of travelfacilities including visa for Canada.


I am a little confused as to why the PCC talks about Indian/Canadian passport when mine is just Indian passport...Is this the format for others as well?

Did CGI still accepting PCC request forms?

You can apply for both DOB and PCC @ CGI.

You have to contact VFS if you are just applying for PCC

I faced the same problem, which took 2 months to be solved.
You have to send them e-mail first and then they will give you the escalate number.
You have to use that escalate number for future communication. If you ask them politely, I am sure you will not get. Mention them, its there fault and they have to take responsibility. i really gave them very hard time on every phone call.

saruyashi, did you go in person to CGI?

The reason why I am asking is because I called CGI and they asked me to come in person an wait for an hour to get the PCC with the correct passport date of issue.

By "date of issue", I meant the passport date of issue and not the PCC date of issue. Did you have the same problem?

Did you apply for PCC in Vancouver? According to the CGI Vancouver website, the PCC should be issued within 10 working days (as I think what happened in your case), but when checking the vfs website, it mentions that the PCC in Vancouver will be issued in 4-6 working weeks, which is even longer than getting the PCC directly from India.
Please reply as I was thinking of applying in the Vancouver office.

Got mine done from Vancouver last month. Took 2 weeks for end to end process.
