My daughter recently got university admission in Canada. We need to apply for a study permit for her while my wife and I would like to apply for a visitor visa to accompany her for about two weeks and visit my son who stays in another province. I have made a CIC account and completed the questionnaire to get the document checklist. I used my own details to create the account and selected that I want to submit an application for my family members (one for study permit for my daughter and one for visitor visa for my wife). Is this the advisable way to do the application or is it better for my daughter to have her own account for her study permit application and my wife and I use the current one? I was also concerned given that the processing times for the study permit and visitor visa are very different. We also need to travel before going to Canada and so are concerned that our passports will be kept for the same amount of time as our daughters since they are submitted from the same account?
