I got the refund from CIC. it came as a cheque. When I went to my local bank to take the cheque's money...They told me to provide them with the drawee bank name......and the cheque's number....actually I was unable to do that ,cuze it's unclear on the cheque...Could you help me telling me those inf

Be careful how much personal information you include in the image. Perhaps best to cover identification, or better yet....why not send image to someone in PM. Public forum doesn't sound like the right place to post pictures of government cheques.

can't you pay the cheque in ur account? my friend got the cheque and paid in his account in pakistan. they never asked for any cheque no etc?

I don't get why ur bank is not accepting that chq and acting weird. All chqs nowadays [especially & albeit of here] r traceable, SWIFT located and auto-cashable. This is how they r coded:

1. The name of the bank which issued this cheque i the cheque.
2. The cheque Number as it is showed in the pic.

I started doing a google search for this online and just about had it when my internet went down and I lost the site, haven't been able to get back to it, but it IS online. I searched for Canadian Bank Locator Transit Number (or something like that). I managed to get that the last number of the Bank Transit number 86532 (NUMBER 2) means the bank is located in Ontario, including the Toronto area. I am sure the other numbers will lead to the actual bank. Good luck carrying on......

I thus, don't understand why ur bank is asking u further questions. The issuing bank & it's branch (and the authenticity of which) is pretty much locatable by the banking system with those codes. I deposit international chqs all the time, around the world, w/out any hitch.
