Hello Folks,

The email which is sent by CIC for medicals contains a pdf attachment for the applicant and the dependents. The pdf contains an IME number which has bar coding. I was wondering what should one do in case we do upfront medicals and get the IME form as well from CIC after a few weeks? The only option I see is that we will have to reply to CIC stating we have already done our medicals and the same has got e-uploaded on a prior date. What else can we speculate? will this be an issue?

That's exactly what you have to do in case you do upfront medicals. After completing the medicals the doc will upload results and you
get the IME number, which you submit to CIC.

Yes, MR is an automatic generated email and some applicants who did upfront meds still
get the MR. However, if you get MR and did upfront meds simply email CPC and inform them about that.

yes and no.
for example, i did upfront medical and i never received a medical request from cic
but ive seen ppl who also did upfront medical and still received a MR.
so it is really different from case to case.
at the end, it doesnt make much difference to your case as long as you inform cic about upfront medical.

Once the doctor submitted the results in eMedical portal . How many days does it take to reflect in online status as "Medical Received" .

Hi Guys,
I completed upfront Medicals today. Everything when smooth except at the begin.
When I got in the receptionist asked for my passport and my health card which gave to her. I also provided a copy of my AOR which she did not need anyway.
After she entered the information on my passport she asked me which category of immigration was. I told her Canadian Experience Class. She said she could not find my information on the system and she did not have a CEC option on her computer; she only had: Worker, Spousal Sponsorhip and three other categories that I was sure I'm not. Then she said it is not possible do not do upfront Medicals for CEC. I insisted that this is possible and she should check with the doctor. She then went to see the doctor and he told her to put me as worker. After this, everything else went OK. I did everything the clinic.
- She took a picture of me
- Then another nurse came to get me
- I did vision test and she took my blood pressure
- Finally she took my hieight and weight
- Then another nurse came to get to do X-ray and then she some of my blood
- After that she provided my with a small box to do mid-stream urine
- And Finally the doctor came to see me. He asked bunch a of questions and then did a body check up. At the end he gave me an Information Sheet with the UMI number on it and told me that he will upload the results within 5 days. He advised me to provide him my IME number once I get the Medical Request so he can update it in the system.
Questions:
- Do I really need to contact the doctor again once I get MR
- Have anyone experienced the fact the CEC categrory is not on the Doctor's System
- Can I email CIC only the UMI number ? Or Do I need to scan the Information Sheet and attach it to an email?

Yes, heard the same story from someone else. In the end it doesn't matter what category you do your medicals in,
as long as you get it done. :)
But yes, curious to hear from someone who did upfront meds recently. I got my appointment for saturday morning :)

yeah, i dont think there is a medical category for CEC or PR in general :)
just gotta use worker instead.

Also, I would scan the information sheet and email it to cic, just to be safe.

Does it matter if sent the UMI information sheet now or should I wait until after the doctor has uploaled the results?

You should be ok sending it now. Your doctor will then update the information connected with your UMI whenever
he uploads the information. Maybe attach a letter and inform them, that this is your UMI and the results have not
been uploaded yet.

Hi Guys,

Has anyone had a pleasant experience/saved days on the processing of their application through upfront medicals ? I'm contemplating whether to go for it or just wait till I receive the MR.

I have been browsing this forum and have mostly come across people's applications getting delayed even longer due to confusion. Please advice.

Thank you!

You don't have to do upfront. It's always recommended to wait for MR and then to the meds, however, in my case I will be travelling ( backpacking ) by the time I expect the MR, so I won't be able to do the meds when CIC sends me the request - hence, I'm doing
it upfront.
