This is a very important and helpful issue, I plan to do UFM but not sure yet, if I am going to do it or just wait for MR.

I know for a fact, UFM reduces wait time by at least 1 month. So I am up for it.
The only confusion is, sometimes CIC does not receive it, or they ask for MR again. Also the MR is coming faster these days. So just gonna wait for another month or two, then will decide.

Keep those UFM experiences coming guys :)

I'm thinking about getting my meds done a month before I expect the official MR from CIC to come thru.

Does Physicians already have IMM 1017 forms with them when we go upfront medical? or they fills any other form?

im not sure if imm1017 is the upfront medical document but you do not need to fill any extra form from cic.
just tell your clinic that youd like to do upfront medical exam and they will have all the documents ready either on site or they might email you the documents in advance as my physician did with me.
once you finish your medical exam, the clinic will give a copy of document with UMI on it and thats the only document matters! send the scanned copy to cic and youre all set to go :)

So we have to manually send the copy to CIC? I thought with e-Medical doctors can send them directly to CIC.

that's what I know as well. Majority of people said Doctor sent medical directly to CIC.

If the clinic you go to is eMeds enabled, they will upload the results for you. Some clinics issue receipts ( non-official documents )
which can be send to CIC, but you don't have to.

Check my website, more specific the FAQ section. There's a post about upfront meds

The correct form for upfront meds is IMM 1017 UFM

That sounds about right. I'll let you know how it goes when I do mine and if it's worth it :)
And I'll post my experience on my website too.

maybe i didnt make myself clear enough. the medical result will be directly sent from doc's office
but you will get a confirmation document with UMI as a proof of your medical exam.
what i meant was to send a copy of that e-medical document to cic :P
your e-medical should be connected to your file with UCI you provided at the time of exam
however, in my opinion its better to make sure that your result gets added to your file.

Even i m thinking to do upfront med...pls advise wat wld b the best time i applied on aug 20...

And one more thing i m confused when v go for upfront med ...cic wl send us for rprf req only but isint a tension too as we will not hear from cic in between that long when others might b getting med req ....as med req sent from cic directly gives a bit peace of mind tooo that 90% our file is thru....

So m confused whether to do or to wait

You can order gcms to see if they wrote "Medical results received".
