Update on Start up visa progress?

Hi there, such a great news
It has shown that the IRCC are working by about 20% staffs. Due to last year which file number had been issued after 2months.

I applied SUV on March 23. After nearly 10 months, Jan 13, I received file number.

Did you receive a temporary or actual file number?

I applied on April 17th 2020 and today I received an email letting me know my file was received and a temporary file number

I've just received an email , which explains about delay due to corona virus. And getting a temporary file number. I recieved this before too.

I sent in my paper application on April 14th. It arrived on 17th April at the IRCC offices.
They physically opened and scanned my application around mid-Oct (6months later!)

I was assigned a temporary file number, but my application has not yet been processed in the system so I can't link it to my online account.

I also received temporary file no. Anyone tells me what does it mean and the differences between temporary and actual file no? Does it affect processing timeline?

Hi @StrangerSUV
Temporary file number means that your application was received in IRCC but didn't check yet. When they check and make sure that your application is complete they issue an AOR and send you a permanent file number.
I hope, I have conveyed what I mean.

Hello, I submitted My application ( start up visa) , and IRCC sent me temporary application number.
I know this temporary number only means that My file was received and picked up by the IRCC to evaluate if it error free or not.
my question is If my file is accepted and there is no error, will a new and different application number be sent to me or will the letter X be removed from the temporary application number beginning?

My UCI number starts with the letter T and my temporary application number starts with the letter XE

You need to wait for a permanent number that will be assigned to your application after the IRCC took your case out of inventory, opened your case and put your application in the line for processing. However, this will take long. Sadly, before having the permanent number, there’s no way you can receive updates or check the status.
