Hi All, just wanted to fill you in on the outcome of my interview. By the way my wife sponsored me for PR, we met in 2007 and married in April,2009. We have been living together in my country since Jan. 2008 (three years next month ). We applied for PR in Sept. 2009, so have been in process for about 15 months now. We found this useful forum not long ago, so we did not include much evidence in our application, just a few photos, emails, legal documents etc. An interview was scheduled for me and after joining this forum and realizing how much we needed to include, i went into the interview well prepared.

Some of the documents i went along with include; more photos, letters from friends and family, resettlement plan ( a letter from my wife's parents committing to hosting us, letters from their employers stating they have stable jobs, copy of their modgages, investments etc), a bank statement of our joint account, journals we kept when one was away, facebook msgs, letter from our landlord, email msges with potential employers in canada (my wife is a teacher by profession), and the list goes on......

The IO was pretty impressed with all the documents I presented. She even told me that most of her concerns are addressed by the additional documents provided. Okay here comes the issue... She pointed out that our marriage certificate was stamped by the registrar but not signed! yea not signed..... So she said she was happy with everything else but needed to confirm with the authorities in my country about the validity of my marriage certificate before the visa can be issued. I perfectly understood her position but my huge worry is that things can be very slow in my country and I will not be surprised if she gets no response at all.

Here is my plan; I intend to go to the Regisrars office and have her write a letter acknowledging the validity of our marriage, then i will attach the receipt of the marriage registry to the letter and send it to the IO.

What are your thoughts on that? I will appreciate any response

Thanks

go for it! the more the better and i dont think it could hurt. i dont know about our country but here in egypt they have a box to submit all additional documents inside the door of the embassy, which i believe they recieve pretty fast, since the IO is satisfied with everything else it could help speed it up. i know its a looooong and tiring process but at least its basically finished for you!
good luck
