Correct me if Im wrong but my understanding was that you could not make the payment "online" using a CC but had to fill out the payment form and include your CC information for CIC to process the payment directly, or do a certified cheque.
It was mandatory to include the following form. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5770E.PDF and on which form it stated that "This form must accompany your sponsorship application."

Quite naturally, CIC should be charging applicant's Credit Card only if his/her application is found in order/ in conformity to its (CIC'S) guidelines. Under such circumstances,it should be safely assumed that the application has been accepted for further process, namely subjected to background/eligibility check of the sponsor.
Assuming this be the case,please accept Congrats for crossing OVER the first hurdle.

Did you submit copy of your parents full passports or only the passport pages with seal?

We should be able to check if the funds have been cashed out by CIC even if the method of payment used was not Credit card (CC) (e.g certified cheque/ bank draft). I was able to check on mine and the bank told me that the bank draft I submitted (received by CIC on Jan 3rd) has not been cashed out yet.
Anyone else got a chance to check if his certified cheque / bank draft has been cashed out??
I am hoping they are doing CC first then other methods of payment (fingers crossed)
