Unsure if I should send a second OWP to Vegreville

Hello all,

First, I must say that this forum has made me feel much less alone and unsure during this extremely complicated process. So thank you to all those who are participating and who are far more knowledgeable than I. The time and effort you all direct at answering questions is greatly appreciated.

My husband (Samoan citizen) and I (Canadian citizen) just submitted an inland PR application package to Mississauga last Friday (December 19th). Included in this application package was an OWP. At the time, despite all my googling on this topic, I didn't realize that the pilot program was about to materialize within a few days.

The Inland PR application package (including the OWP) was received in Mississauga on Monday, December 22nd (according to my Canada Post tracking number). So my question is this:

If the application package was received on Monday (December 22nd) but likely not opened, do we need to send a second OWP application to the Vegreville office in order to be considered in this pilot program for OWP?

I feel like we fell on the cusp of the deadline which determines where we were meant to send the applicaiton so now I'm concerned (a.k.a. freaking out) that we've sent it to the wrong location and it'll get lost in the shuffle...Would anyone out there recommend sending a second copy of the OWP application to Vegreville?

I think you should be OK. Your husband does have a current status in Canada, correct?

Yup, he's here on a one-year visitor visa, it's good until next September.

I almost wish we'd have waited a couple of days to send in the application then I wouldn't be so worried straddling this December 22nd date thing and I would feel more confident about sending the OWP to the right location...
