I am applying for MEng Electronic Systems in University of Regina.

My profile is:

BSc Electrical Engineering in Telecommunications CGPA 2.93 out of 4 (71.55% overall)
12th 73%
10th 82%
IELTS 7.0

I applied to Memorial University research based program and got rejected. Would like to know what are my chances in Regina for course-based or co-op MEng. Also which one is more competitive; co-op or course based? Also which one is more competitive from Electronic Systems and Industrial systems?

Would really appreciate helpful replies!

I will suggest course base. You can convert into co-op later. Mine friend applied in co-op with cgpa of 3.01 but he got rejection.

Your profile is good and surely you should get a graduate position at UoR.
What about language proficiency test? IELTS or TOEFL?

Thank you for replying. I got toefl score of 101. My only worry is if i ll be able to register for fall classes. Does it always take almost 3 months to offer a place?

Nopz. It varies department to department.
Mine was 'Computer Science'. They took around 3-months.

You can always email the department's secretary about the status/progress of your application. I am sure they are kind enough to respond the queries.

i applied on 3rd march for Sept 2014 intake.....
but even i am surprising how they gave their secision too quick......

It can be that you are not eligible to apply. Maybe the graduate department did not accept your application to send it to the department for further review. Ask them about the reason. BTW what is ur profile and which program did you apply for?

Like usman_14pk has said in the previous post, email the graduate office and ask them what went wrong. They seem to have given their decision rather quickly. Its been only a month
