Hi Friends , i am interested in University of Regina Master in Human Resource Mangement Program.

M.H.R.M. Admission Requirements on University of Regina Website

Applicants must meet the following entrance requirements:

1. Applicants are normally required to have completed a four-year undergraduate degree in any field with a minimum 70% average.
2. Applicants are normally required to have at least two years of full-time relevant working experience in the field of human resource management.
3. International applicants must submit proof of English proficiency if the language of instruction in their undergraduate degree was not English. The minimum required TOEFL score is 580 paper-based / 80 internet-based. See the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research website for minimum required scores on other language tests.

MY EDUCATIONAL BACK GROUND

1. MATRICULATION 557 /850 = 65.52 %
2. INTERMEDIATE 628 / 1100 = 57.09%
3. BBA-IT (2YEARS) 62%
4. MBA WITH FOUNDATION PROGRAM = PASS BRITISH DEGREE FROM UK

My two years of HR experience will be complete on 1 MAY 2011 .before that i have sales and marketing experience of almost 3 years from UK

Today I met with one consultant(Admission Advisors) here in Islamabad and she said that though it is not written on university website that They require GRE OR GMAT for MHRM program but still even if i apply , on the offer letter they will ask me to provide GRE/GMAT score to get the formal letter for VISA.

Now My question is this should i go for University of Regina MHRM program? R they flexible interms of student admission? My total years of education is 15.5 years and all my degrees are approved & Recognised from HEC.

kindly give me your thought s on my case as i dont want to loose my $100 admission fees.

Regards

Why don't you get your queries answered directly from u of Regina? Just ask them if they need GRE as part of their admission process and also will it be mentioned on a conditional offer if it they offer you admission?

My experience has been cad universities never reject students. Also, if you are so worried about wasting 100$ then forget about persuing studies at cad Universities they will charge much more money for your tuition fees and other registeration fees for courses.

Nazia its not about Canadian uni fees. its about applying in the right university as i just don't want to throw away my money for the admissions where i don't qualify.

but as per your experience its a relief for me that they don't reject applications......

any other comments?

Your application will gain more weightage if you show relevant work experience. If you have worked , always attach resume with your docs it works wonders in admission process. MBA from UK university is a plus point. What is your budget? Do you want to apply to only one university? You still have got a good shot at Regina.

If you have already done work in your course related field and have5+ years work experience under your belt. Your case is strong for admission. Degrees are just a piece of papar only indicate that you have some theoretical knowledge as well . Just clear GRE / GMAT part from university. Is it mandatory?

If cad universities can exempt Ielts requirement then why not GRE. In the USA, not all universities require GRE. Your consultant is wrong. Nothing will be written on your offer letter. Just double confirm this from your university . Move your bum , sir ;D

The university has total fees for the whole program is $19000. therefore it is totally in my budget. I also have enough funds for accommodation and other expenses during studies.

The reason i have chosen Regina is because it falls in my budget and also i want to choose a university in Saskatchewan.

Other universities are either expensive or i donot fulfill their initial admission criteria.

As i have done my MBA from Uk in the past therefore i don't want to go for some post graduate diploma from some college which make s my case Weak infront of visa officer.

Also i will be showing HR related field experience exactly of two years and the remaining experience is the sales and marketing related field

regards

:) yeah its kind a working and confused as well .....Uni of Saskatchewan is expensive. it is around $33000....

Also i just called University of Regina and the lady on the phone said that you have two years bachelor degree and a master degree from British university therefore its a complicated case.

she was like no one can tell you until you apply as generally they require 4 years bachelor degree as an admission requirement.

I am again confused:):)

help! help! help ! :)

You have no options left. Go and apply. It is a complicated one but it is not outright impossible. Make sure you attach your resume.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
LANDED..........
Probably never.
Any other reason to prefer Saskatchewan? I have heard there are cheap universities in other areas as well. Regina is nice place, a little bit boring though, ppl are quite friendly though like rest of the CA.

The reason i am choosing Saskatchewan is because of their easier immigiration policy.i.e i can become a PR Holder just after completing
my Studies......Also University of Regina is affordable as well.

if you can suggest any universities who have similar fees for Master degree of similar fees i.e $19000..i eria.would appreciate that.

Also i dont want to appear for GMAT OR GRE test....please suggest any other university in any other province who have flexible criteria.

Yeah, you have made the right decision. May be you can get a cheaper course somewhere else, but getting PR that quikly is really a big bonus. Regina is small, but looks like a nice place for study. Best of luck for everything!!!
