Thank you!! No medicals were required. Applied using only the GC Key, not the new portal. Using the new portal would have been better I guess. My parents have no past rejections, they have US and Canada travel history. Country of origin is Bangladesh.

No not a super visa. Just a regular visa. Sorry I think I misunderstood your previous question about "country of origin". They applied from Dubai but their nationality is Bangladeshi.

is it a good idea to email Abu Dhabi visa office to inquire about status on a TRV application??

Well I have contacted them previously for various other CIC issues and they have always been very proactive in responding..

but I am not sure if they'll likely be up for answering TRV related queries..

anyone has any idea

p.s. I raised a web form before and have been replied that the application is in process at Abu Dhabi visa office and I shall contact them directly if I need to submit additional documents or inquire about status of the application...

I think contacting them directly would be great. Because of my frustration of waiting more than 210 days now, I decided to stay up one night to call them. I was greeted on the phone with an automated message saying, "please contact us via a webform as we do not answer via phone". The only other option would be emailing them. Do you happen to have an email address for anyone in the Embassy? If not I highly encourage you to post a review on their google map page for the embassy of Canada in Abu Dhabi and tweet to the ambassador's handle. I submitted a webform on October 17, 2022. I got a response on Monday if that gives you an idea. over 100 days to respond to a simple email.

Application submitted: July 17th
Biometrics collection letter: July 18th
Biometrics done and uploaded: July 19th
Review of eligibility started: July 20th

My spouse TRV from Dubai got approved and following is the timeline:

Application submitted: Oct 22, 2022 at IRCC portal
Biometrics done and uploaded: same day updated from the previous visa
Review of eligibility started: same day started
BVL Received: Feb 03, 2023
Passport Request Letter: Feb 07, 2023

Nothing so far regarding my aunt's application, but my cousin applied during April 2022, and she just got a passport request letter on the 30th of Jan.
