Unique Situation!! Please Help.

Dear All,

I am facing an unique situation with my application.

I got my PPR on 19th August and in email they asked me to send my Docs (passport etc) to Ottawa, But problem I face is I am from India and living in Oman , so as many of you know already Indian passport cant be mailed and after going through this forum I saw few bloggers got their file transferred to New Delhi for stamping, So I emailed CPP-O requesting them if they can allow me if possible to get my visa stamped in New delhi because of limitations in mailing Passport.

And now its been 17 days without any response from them, I emailed them again two days back to follow up but still no response, I am getting little tensed with time passing by and waiting.

My question here is

Will they ever reply with any sort of answer, because in my PPR email it is highlighted in bold that my application will be finalised at CPP-O and may be they think PPR email is self explanatory and I have to send it to CPP-O

What if i somehow send my Passport to Ottawa and they decide to email me saying ok you can send to New Delhi for stamping , then i will be in bigger pickle as my passport will be in Ottawa, which if they return will be in regular post which will be 6 weeks minimum to return to Oman.and even if they stamp it in Ottawa there is no option to get couriered to international destination so they will return by regular mail which is not really safe.

I am really confused with many theories and a lot of ifs and buts.

Can you guys suggest if you have any ideas how to properly deal with this issue.

Oh yes just to clarify In my application I selected London VO as PR application from Oman are processed there.

Any Canadian embassy around your place ? Maybe go and find out from them ?

I also think that you should discuss with Canadian embassy near your place. You can also discuss with any immigration lawyer who can guide you better way.

Better to go and speak with some person at the Canadian embassy there in Oman.

Thanks for all your suggestions, I will call Canadian Embassy Abu dhabi which processes TRVs for Oman, and as such there is no Canadian embassy in Oman.

lets hope I sort this issue soon.

There was an applicant who got the visa stamped in his place, in India. So you should also be able to do. Keep us all posted.

DHL courier acceptas Indian Passports. Did you check with them ?

Yes,

I can update you that they send me an email asking when i was staying in India and contact numbers.I said i was going to India for 4 days from Oman and gave them contact numbers.

They replied saying, 3-4 days is too short to get visa stamped in india and they will try to get visa done from Abu dhabi instead.and will send instructions soon.

still waiting for instructions. its been 4 working days.Lets see.

I can update you that they send me an email asking when i was staying in India and contact numbers.I said i was going to India for 4 days from Oman and gave them contact numbers.

They replied saying, 3-4 days is too short to get visa stamped in india and they will try to get visa done from Abu dhabi instead.and will send instructions soon.

still waiting for instructions. its been 4 working days.Lets see.

Did you got reply from Ottawa saying that you can submit passports in Oman or have u spoken to your local Canadian embassy..can you please elaborate more on this....

please guide us so that we can understand whether CIC is accepting or not in local countries..

I got email from Ottawa.

They initially replied to my email after 13 days saying they will try to facilitate my visa from india when i said i have to go to vacation In india From oman and wanted to know how long i was staying in india and what are my contact details in india. i.e address phone no.

i replied to them my plan, saying 5 days to stay in india and address etc etc

They emailed me back saying time is too short as delhi VO is very busy. and said Usually in cases like mine they get visas stamped in Abu Dhabi.and they will send me instructions soon regarding the same

its been 5 days but still waiting on instructions.

and just to clarify.

Canada doesnt have embassy or consulate in Oman, all TRV's and some permanent resident documents are processed/Issued from Canadian Embassy in Abu Dhabi- UAE.

Inshort wait continues but positive results are expected in this dilemna.
