understanding GCMS notes

Guys,

How long after AOR is it better to wait to order GCMS notes?

I ordered around 50 days.
It took them another 10-15 days to generate my notes

There is nothing you can do, Security is a big variable depending on number of factors it may take a month to a year, CIC will not let you see though gcms notes what exactly is happening during security review

Hi

I applied for my GCMS notes 10 days back from india.
you need to follow the steps below:
1. Find a friend who is currently in canada. keep his phone number, complete postal address with you.
2. Create a letter addressed to the Citizenship and immigration canada stating that you are authorizing your friend XYZ to obtain information under the privacy act on your behalf. state in the letter your friends complete postal address along with his phone number.
3. In case you have any dependents in your application, you might to create multiple letters.
4. take a print out of the letter, sign it and then scan it into a pdf and keep it handy.
5. Open the GCMS website. and apply posing as your friend, give address details, his resident status in canada etc. if you have ny doubt..better ask your friend before hand.
6. there will be an option, whether you are obtaining this info on your own behalf or your friend.. "SELECT someones elses behalf."
7. make sure in the friends email id details.. you enter your own email id. dont need to enter your friends email id, because you will directly get the notes on your email id that way.
8. follow the next steps which would require, entering your aplication number, UCI etc..
9. in the end you will be required to upload the authorization letters.. this is when u upload the scanned letters from step 4.

thats it.. you are done.

Guys this is an old post from some other thread. Does this hold true today as well?
If I execute above steps, will it cost me $5 or more?

P.S.This is the first time I am looking into GCMS thread and hence this lack of understanding. Thanks.

Yes you can use Application number. It is recommended to order notes after 03 months of AOR

1-You can send your persoanl detail and application number to this email address ( CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca ) and ask them to send your UCI Number.
2-I ordered after 60 days and I found out my Secondary visa Office.

No, your consultant would not know.
GCMS notes are delivered to email which one provides in the gcms notes ordering application form. It cannot be seen in CIC login that one has ordered GCMS notes. However, in case your consultant orders it again, the gcms notes, then there would be an entry recorded in it.

When you order gcms notes, this request also get recorded into your file. If you order gcms notes second time or more then it will have records of previous requests and if you show these gcms to agent that's the only way he can get to know of this activity.

If you see a S.15(1) on the page that discusses "Security" and the data has been redacted, it is very likely that your Security checks are complete.

i also can see this in the in the last page of notes, and also with s.15(1) on the top:
