@Sparsha, Thank you for helping out and clearing my confusion. Yes indeed, for Ottawa there was no option for uploading transcripts and other documents. Pardon me I couldn't understand what u meant with student number and what I am supposed to do?
Is that some number they would send us through email ? And do I need to write down my student number on the envelope cover( containing transcripts, SOP, cv and pref form ), so that they could easily map the applicants with these docs?

On a diff note, I went to ielts office today and applied for additional TRF to be sent to Ottawa Carleton institute of compute science.

@Allancmm, For Univ of Ottawa we need to send the documents just after we are done with the application. As Sparsha pointed out, They would start evaluating our application once they receive our documents

Is there any other way we could be in touch so that we could discuss about the process ?

In UOttawa, it doesn't work that way... in the application there are no options to present our scores. They want our scores to be mailed or couriered to their office.. (Courier is given high preference though, for mailing- you need to consult or drop a mail to your graduate office whether mailing the docs is okay for them. I did drop a mail to them, but didn't receive any response. I didn't want to stand a chance, hence couriered the docs required). Upon reviewing our docs in hard copy, they would give us the admission.

Your online application status will be updated as they receive your docs or an acknowledgement of docs mail would coming to the email address that you have mentioned.

Yes, you have assumed it correctly. Student Number would be given to you from the univ via a mail to the email address that you have specified in the application. Just keep checking it. And yes you need to write that student number on the envelope cover for them to map with your application.
That's a very important number, it's stated in the mail.
For IELTS, make sure you write the correct address of Graduate office.

I have also applied for the similar universities -
Ottawa, Victoria, Carleton, Manitoba.
For Concordia, you need to know French very well (it was my option too, but I don't think I have a good apt in French. My friend who stays in Canada had a difficult time for jobs and all in this university province. No offence though! )
Yes Manitoba university portal is closed. I have received that notice when I have submitted my application. Prepare everything and apply before Jan 10th. Most of the time I will be available in this portal (except on weekends), you can post your comments here or drop me a mail to my inbox here. Will that be okay?

For UVic, I haven't forwarded any docs so far.
I think for UVic, docs are needed to be submitted once you have got an admit. I read it somewhere, else they would have specified in your application after submission that ("these") docs are missing.. So send after you receive an admit.

I have a doubt actually.. I thought I wanted to go for Industrial option in MS in CS. But now I am thinking "Can I move over to Coursework?".. Is there a chance to change my option after submission of application.

I read in the application that we need to mail to this ID further, if we wish to make any changes to the submitted application. May I ask why you intend to change from Coop to course based? Is it because it takes more time to finish the course with coop?

I read that we do not require to submit documents till we get admit. Does this mean we dont require to send IELTS score too officially from the test centre?

Also Importantly, I contacted my referees and they have told me that they have not recieved any mails from UofOttawa or UVic, even though I applied a week back. And I have not received that Number from Ottawa u mentioned few days back

Today I logged in my UVic account and saw in assessments tab that next to my refree details It shows that requests is sending still, I thout I could cancel and resend again. But once I click cancel. It just shows canceled without any link to re send. Could you help me edit my referee info?

Firstly, about course work, your guess is right.. I think we have Coop along with coursework too.. Industrial option has very less suration (16 months) and I am not sure it would suit my requirements. I have good amount of IT experience (4 years), yet undecided between coursework or Industrial option ... Other colleges I have opted for Course Work only... I think this could be of advantage given its duration!... What do you suggest?

Please send your IELTS score... usually we upload a scanned copy of transcripts which helps the grad committee to judge us... for IELTS score, I don't think we have an option to upload a scanned copy, is there?... So it's better you send over the scores to the university ASAP(since the deadline is nearby).

Regarding the referees, I think it's because of the holiday season, we might expect a delay.. I didn't face this issue actually when I have submitted the application. Wait till 8th Jan maybe and check out, if you still face an issue, drop a mail to the university (on a weekday for a faster reply). Don't panic!

Patience is the key here!

I have applied to University of Victoria for Industrial program. This is also 16 months duration.
Coursework was my choice for most of the universities, since after a semester I suppose Course work students are eligible for Coop program (I think the same goes with other programs too)..
Your score is low
You can try-
Lakehead (I heard it has a good Coop Program) Master of Science in Computer Science(co-operative),60%
Acadia University MSc in computer science(co-operative), 60% plus
University of New Brunswick Msc in comp. science(co-op), 65%+

I wish to get PGWP, atleast for 3 years after my Masters degree.

I am not sure of the duration of Internship... pretty clueless... I hope others in this portal might help you on that.
Also I have no knowledge on the programs of above universities!... Sorry!

Hello Sparsha,

I applied for industrial option too thinking it meant Coop. These applications process are so hefty and tiresome. I applied my IELTS score BTW in the additional documents tab. Im able to edit referees now. But in the requirements tab under recieved column everything else has date except one row reading 'Post Secondary Transcript'. what does this mean? also my status shows incomplete-items outstanding, is it because of ref letter that is yet to be submitted?
