hi

iam u.s citizen by naturalization living in u.s and wants to bring my mother to u.s to live with me. but i can not bring her to u.s because i am addopted child so i have no ties with my mother if i want to bring her to u.s, my question is, is it okay to come to canada as a visitor and then apply for my mother for visit visa or through an immigration? do i have to have PR card to bring my mother to canada either on a visit or immigrant? plzz reply back thankzzz

Since you are an adopted child, you have no legal ties with your mother so I am not sure it would be any easier for you to sponsor her to Canada than to the US. If you could sponsor her, you would have to be a PR of Canada first. For a visit visa, she can apply for that herself and maybe she can also immigrate to Canada herself if she wants. What does she do for a living?

you can not apply to sponsor you mum in canada and you doint have a PR i would think that she needs apply for a tourist visa by herself ; and in this case she needs look for the things they need in a tourist visa

thnx guys for replying

i get what ur point is i need to have a PR card in order to sponsor my bio-logical mother to canada. but i'll assume the chances are yes to my question that i asked since iam an addopted child brought into u.s and can not bring my mother to u.s by the law so i would have to live in canada for 2 yrs atleast to get a PR card and then sponsor her to come to canada.

Leon she is working and also have partnership in a small business if you said she can immigrate to canada will she have to have a sponsor in canada? or she can do it on her own? and if she can do on her own, what she would have to show as in *documents*? and how long will it take if she immigrate to canada by herself?

plz reply thankzzz

There are many different ways to immigrate to Canada. If your mother wants to immigrate, tell her to go to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp and look for a way that will work for her.

Just a note - simply living in Canada for two years will not get you a PR card so that you can sponsor anybody. You would have to be sponsored yourself, or you'd have to apply as a Skilled Worker or Business Entrepeuner, etc. Just as has been suggested for your mother, you yourself would need to look into how you could come to Canada and become a PR before you could even begin to think about applying to sponsor anybody - which, btw, would take years . . . both for you to become a PR, and then for you to sponsor someone else, especially a parent. Sorry, but Canada's not going to be the easy way out of restrictions placed on you in the US in regards to sponsoring a parent - I doubt you will have the necessary "legal ties" to your biological mother as far as sponsorship to Canada either.
