It is eMedical. :(

Did you guys had hard time with FBI PCC? like 12-14 weeks?

Also did someone got PCC from SFO Consulate and if yes, what was the time line like?

thanks

As per my experience in these forums, when eCAS status is in process the file may be still with CIC and CIC may ask for additional docs OR its in Queue for verification. When CIC determines the application is complete, they might send it to CIO Sydney. Because Application received is the work flow status pertaining to CIO.
This is just a thought.

is there a number to call CIC from the US

thanks guys !!

Not that I am aware of. I took a Magic Jack Canada number to make calls from U.S.

Not sure.. why people from US want to move to Canada?? I thought US is much better than Canada?

Can anyone help me to understand the benefits of Canada over US?

I think the system is very unpredictable and the updates are not consistent. I have read on this forum that people have had no update and straight had the PPR and some people actually had updates for each stage. I would not worry much for the updates till the time all documents have been submitted. I am worried for the FBI report as the processing times is greater than 10 weeks. Do you guys have your FBI report or have attached letter of explanation?

I agree. The system is very unpredictable. Everyday I see people mentioning a pattern like in process then received then process again. Mine was application received. There was never in process and there are no other updates. People also say it is based on the date of Ee profile created...I have encountered applicants who created profile in jan and no updates. And who created in February had their ppr.

The processing times for fbi are 14 weeks. CIC is aware of it and it seems explanation letter is sufficient.

I guess everyone will have their own reasons, but for people who are on H1, I have read on these forums that H1 to GC is a long wait where as Canadian PR could be a lot easier if the ITA comes through. Also I suppose once you have a Canadian citizenship you can come and work in the US on a TN visa (not sure about this one).

The other part about Canada which I think is nice is the medical. The payroll taxes are high, but then medical is covered where as in the US, even if you have a decent insurance you are always are on the hook for co-pays, deductible and some other payments. Which can be a hassle once you go on medicare.

From a job market, its without a doubt that US is a bigger market as compared to Canada. But to each, his own!

citizen of mongolia. lived in the us for 10 years starting my high school days. graduated in the US as a mining engineer. i now own my own business here in mongolia. 5 years of experience. no job offer. with the current down turn of mining industry not likely to get one soon. but don't really need a job in Canada. I can fly in and out of canada for work. just want to raise my kids in Canada. what is the best way to go about it? also do i have to take the language test?

please share your opinion and i appreciate your time

Thanks

Great discussion & information Guys :)

Thanks for starting this topic. I'm learning a lot about the Express entry process.

I mailed it to FBI at the end of January. Finally my card was charged a week ago. And from friends' experience, it's still gonna take a month for me to receive it. FBI PC is a huge pain. I'm so glad now cic changed the valid period of PC from 3 months to 6 months. Such a big improvement.

I agree .. Same case with me . But the pattern seems to be there for USA WORK experience.
I worked in USA and now in India . My case has no updates since mar end when I got ITA .
My medical was submitted by doctors on apr 6th ..

I assume most people here don't have U.S. PR or citizenship. Work visa h1b is such a pain speaking of getting PR in U.S. If we stay in U.S. Instead, by the time we get PR here, 2015 EE people already got their citizenship. >:(

Canada is no doubt a smaller market and lower salary in lots of fields. But some fields are gradually moving to Canada from U.S. Because of tax benefits, such as my field. Also in U.S. You have to pay taxes even if you are outside the country. FBI is capable to hunt you down in any corner of this world. :D if you are a Canadian PR and you pay taxes in U.S., you don't have to pay taxes in Canada at the same time.
