I understand there are two options available to check the application status:
i) through the official link https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en and
ii) through the e-CAS tracker website https://ecas.carroll.org.uk/ (managed by Matthew)

Just wanted to know what is the difference between these two options? Which one is more reliable and updated?

There is no difference between the information available. The e-CAS tracker actually goes to the official site for you. The only difference is that on the official site, you have to log in yourself, every time. On the e-CAS tracker, you put in your info once, then it emails you if something changes. It's a very convenient time-saver, nothing more. It doesn't magically "know" any more than is on the official website.

Matthew,

Do I have to be able to log into the CIC e-cas before using your site? I tried to put my info so I will be e-mailed any changes but it says my receipt number had an error (and my receipt is like any receipt..starts w/ R and the numbers). I have not been able to log in on the CIC site yet since my app was received almost 1 month ago. I would love to use the site you created so I won't have to log everyday to see if anything has changed.

Thanks!!
