Hi

I am creating this thread so we can post our concerns on Twitter as feedback/responses to the CIC, Minister of Immigration and also to the PM of Canada for Spousal Sponsorship Applications.

The wait is frustrating and what makes it worse is the unclear status updates. For example, what "Not applicable" against 'Background check' would mean to anyone? When you click on "?" icon there is no helpful reference.

So, I urge people who are in a similar situation where they have been waiting for so long on the spousal applications and have unclear updates to USE TWITTER and therefore, let the concerned authorities know what's happening at your respective VO.

Thanks!

Twitter handles:

CIC: @CitImmCanada
Minister of Immigration: @AhmedDHussen
PM of Canada: @JustinTrudeau

I had accidentally sent an email regarding our late files to Justin Trudeau but I did receive an email back from them that they forwarded it to MP Ahmed. I am crossing my fingers to have a response from them now... can't take this bullshit NDVO is doing any longer!

I think... tweeting and emailing them is a plus..!

Thanks for your support guys. I am certain that this will make a definite change in NDVO processing times. DO NOT forget to tag the PM of Canada @JustinTrudeau in your tweets. Keep tweeting! Good luck!

does tht tweeting helped?

Well, it surely brought the concerns into their notice. The idea is to push them a little hard and let them know the reality. They replied on mine saying to email the concerns to the cic but I didn't. Lot of tweet rush can force them to take action when tagged everyone above.

I'm really sorry to hear this. But believe me, its just the perseverance that'll take you through these hard times. My wife's application is very similar to when it comes to unclear and untimely status updates. So, just hold in tight for a bit more. I'm sure your husband is very much cooperative. The good news is just on your way. Be patient and just keep moving for now. You will thank me later for this. Good luck! & KEEP TWEETING!

I have been in the sponsorship web now since July 11,2014 and still waiting for a visa from Cuba for my husband The system has failed us and is still failing us after winning our appeal Dec 20,2016. It is now more then 5 months since wining and 6 weeks since sending requested updated forms. I have emailed Justin Trudeau, Immigration Minister Ahmed D Hussen which was a waste of time as neither was any assistance. It will be 3 years in the system July 11,2017. So much for The Liberal idea of Family Reunification. I have all but given up hope that my husband will be here to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary in September.

I'm sorry that's really frustrating. :( but What status does it show on Ecas and under GC notes?
Ecas shows "in process" and only 3 lines
GC notes shows under eligibility" review required " since Feb'17
No single update so long..
No add doc request no interview if they hv any doubt or need anything more
