Hello

we applied for a tRV visa for my future brother in law to come to our wedding and we got a refusal today.
for the following reasons

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your travel history.

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

we applied online, and my brother in law lives in Ethiopia,
Married with 3 kids and both his in-laws and his mother live with him, owns a metal works shop which he has owned since 2003 and had about 900000 ETB approximately 47000 CAD in his account, he has property and a vehicle under his name

my fiance is American and doesn't have papers for Canada yet so i was the one that sent the invite plus the wedding card

we did include a letter of explanation in the application marriage certificate

I don't know how to address the VO's concerns,
he has never traveled outside the country except for Dubai

i don't know what else we can provide to proof his ties to his country besides what we did

ANY HELP or Suggestions would be appreciated

Thank you

- How long a trip did he request?

The fact he has such a limited travel history is unfortunately going to work against him.

@Bryanna , I Would truly appreciate your input on this

if we added kids birth certificate
kids school registration with receipt
Does he have a second bank account for the business which has approximately 10000 CAD if we added this would that help at all?

i only added my passport and citizenship card as proof of relationship, should we add my pay stubs, hubby's passport and green card and his pay stubs as well?

I often see people with no travel history still get approved so i don't understand the logic behind no travel history- why would someone travel unless interested/ required?

thank you

Hi,

1. For how long did he intend to visit?

2. As for the bank statement which he had submitted, is it a business account or a personal account? Any last-minute, large transfers from his other accounts?

3. What documents did he submit for the property? Any mortgages or loans against the property or vehicle?

4. Are his in-laws and his mother employed? Or he can he prove they are dependent on him financially (he pays for the rent, utility bills, their medical insurance/treatment, etc)?

5. Do post the list of documents which he had submitted

Cheers

@Bryanna , THANK you for responding

we requested a 3 week visit 0ct 24-nov 14

the bank account we submitted was his personal account, there were no last-minute transfers from his other account.
we only provided one of his accounts thinking it would be enough, we can provide another bank statement from a different bank

he submitted land titles under his name, his business license with tax account which had a capital of 1.2 million, his vehicle ownership and registration
NO mortgage or loans on the property

his in-laws and mother are not employed, he is the sole breadwinner in the family. His wife does not work as she takes care of the children and the parents

documents he submitted
1. invitation letter + wedding card
2. passport
3. bank statement
4.lProperty- land title,
5. business registration and tax account
3. vehicle ownership
4 marriage certificate
5 flight booked with return ticket
6 travelers medical insurance for the duration he would stay in Canada
7 my passport and citizenship card
8. marriage certificate
9. letter of explanation- with ties to his home country, need to return to his job as he is the main welder for his metal works business, dependency of the parents.. and how he needs to be back to help his wife with their care,

what we plan on adding to the doc. list are

kids birth certificate and school registration
My fiances ( his brothers) green card
my pay stubs+ bank statement
letter of explanation - stating why he has no travel history in the past,- no need to travel as everything he needed was in his home country and he was in the process of building his business, then got married and has kids with parents also depending on him as a result travelling out of country was not necessary

we can possibly add medical bills that he paid for his parents, utility bills

thank you
