hello all...
I really need to know:
How would an immigration officer decide from which date to which date someone could enter Canada on their TRV? I understand the validity of a TRV would normally be 6 months unless you seemed 'sketchy' or whatever. However, I need to know how they might calculate from when to when someone could actually come in? I assume it's based on the dates you propose on your visa application? For example, if I bought an airplane ticket, would the date I could enter Canada automatically be granted between the flight departure date and the return flight date?
I'm asking because I got a TRV accepted (they told me online) but didn't give me an entry date. After they told me to send them my passport in another country's Canadian embassy, I then used a courier service to courier my passport to that other country who issues Canadian visas in my area. Hlowever, the courier service promised me service in 2 days and then of course, just the WAY THERE my passport took 7 days to arrive at that embassy (my country uses a 3rd party courier which i didn't know about).
I'm anticipating this courier company whose return waybill is in my envelope with the passport will take yet another 7 days to return the passport to me which would be after the return flight date on my ticket and what I mentioned in my application. I really need to know if Canada will just now cancel my visa on me if my passport arrives after my flight departure date. My fiance is waiting for me and I can't get other vacation days... and I might be denied another TRV depending on who looks at my file. Plus, we're attending a wedding in Canada which obviously won't be delayed because I can't get to Canada...
We're pretty anxious about this... does anyone have any information at all?
Your help will be much appreciated. Thanks.
