TRV to see if my husband would like Canada

Hello:

I am trying to find out everything and anything regarding applying for TRV for my husband who is Egyptian. I am currently in Canada(born and raised), we have been married for almost a year. I would like for him to come to Canada to, well, check it out. To see the differences of the coutries for himself.

After being in Egypt and seeing the culture/way of life first hand, I think it only fair for him to do the same. In the end, it is to be able to take everything into account while making decisions for our future-PR, or the chance we apply for it.

Any thoughts as to the likelyhood of this actually happening? From everything I have read it seems rather dismal to be granted a TRV.

Neither of us care where we live, we just want to be together. living in
Egypt is all good with me. But it would be nice for us to travel back and forth to visit my family and for him to meet them!

I have read the list of things to include in the invitation letter, also, the application in general. I just wondered if stating that as the purpose of the visit would be more likely to cause problems.

Thanks in advance :)

Have you applied for permanent resident status for your husband?

No, I have not as of yet applied for anything. I am also worried a refusal will be like a "black mark" so to speak on us.

The purpose for the TRV would be for him to come here and see if he even wants to live here. Like I said, to meet my family as well. But why would we apply for PR without even knowing its something he would like??

That is alot of time money and effort all of which might be waisted should he not like it here. It is much easier, in my mind to have him visit first.

Why? What are you thinking? Does telling the IO that make for us to be turned down?

Thanks for the reply

Applying permanent resident status for your husband doesn't mean that your husband must come to Canada to live. Even after your husband gets his PR card, it is still up to you guys whether to live in Canada or not.

I guess it would lift the burden of future TRV aps. I am not sure that I qualify financially though. Any thoughts on that? I know as he is my spouse, I dont have to meet the chart examples but how tricky is it?

Thanks for your reply

For spousal sponsorship, there are virtually no financial requirement. The sponsor must not be financial default and not in welfare. In case of outland application where the sponsor lives exclusively with the applicant, just provide plans that you intend to live in Canada (example get employment in Canada) when your husband get his PR visa. In the end if your husband land and receive his PR card, you guys still have a choice whether to live together in Canada or Egypt.
