TRV to Buffalo consulate

Hi guys,

I am in Toronto with my wife on an open work permit valid till 2014. We send in our passports and the application for TRV to the Buffalo office. THe application package was received by the consulate on Feb 24th. How long do you guys reckon it will take for Buffalo to return the passports with the Visa (if the application is void of any mistakes and errors). The CIC website says its "*30" days. Do they indeed send it back in 30 days time frame? Your efforts and help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

I think you shall get your visa within 30 days. Because there is no holiday's period.

Got the passports back with the visa stamped. I got it on Thursday March 8th. Hope this info helps someone in here.

Hi Androme,

Could you let us know what all documentation you sent in mail? It would be a nice help. I already sent the passports 3 days after you did as per you submission date and still waiting on the same.

Sorry guys for the late reply.

Documents that I send were,
1) passports with the work permits of both mine and my wife's
2) Letter from both of our employers
3) Bank account details (we took a print out from the internet banking for our bank balance)
4) Payslips for the past 3 months (Probably wasn't neccessary)
5) And ofcourse the application forms along with the fees.

Oh and my wife was good enough to type a cover letter for both of us requesting to grant us multiple entry visas as we are travelling in couple of months time.

Honestly even we were surprised when we saw the passports returned so fast. I send it on 2/18th. They received it on 2/24th and I got my passprts back 3/8. This is like a once in a blue moon kinda thing guys. Thanks.

To all on this post.
I got my passport back today with the visa for canada.

Mailed the application on 02/29 and got it back on 03/14 by 12.00 PM

Docs mailed.
1) 3 filled in forms required for Visa application
2) Proof of My legal stay doc in USA
3) Bank statements
4) Employee id card.
5) Prepaid mail in envelope from usps.

Rest of all i did a cover letter to the VO and i signed it.
